Help identifying a factory rear window slider

I’ve go a very nice large rear window slider for sale in the “parts for sale” area and I think it might have been a factory slider? Lots of potential buyers asking “if it is a factory slider?” Can any of you tell me if it is or is not?

Lock says “CabAire” and the glass says “CAL TUF Tempered Glass”.

Re: Help identifying a factory rear window slider

I believe original slider glass had "Guardian" printed on it. See post #8 here for an example. I had an original slider in rough shape a few years ago and am almost certain it had "Guardian" printed on its glass too.

Pretty sure the OEMs had plastic latches.

Re: Help identifying a factory rear window slider

I have a sliding rear window that a union brother gave me when he 86'ed his '72 K/20 project and cleaned out his yard. It may have had the plastic latch but that broke off. Is there any other way to secure the back window?

This one’s got a metal latch assembly.

I use a pair of these on my slider that is missing the original center latch:

Here is a pic but - my SPID does not show a factory slider ... but this was on the truck ...

Re: Help identifying a factory rear window slider

My '72 K2500 came with the slider. The latch had broken off and what was left was black plastic. The latches on '73-'91 K/5 slider side windows appears to be the same part. Or at least the mount holes are the same and that latch works. There may have been some cosmetic change, but the latches interchange. The '72 now has the slider that I bought for another truck in '89 from an auto glass shop. It has a chrome metal latch like the ones shown. I'll have to check to see if it says Prestige on it

OK. That's a simple solution. Thanks.

Re: Help identifying a factory rear window slider

I've got 3 that I've removed from trucks with slider on the SPID, and they all have "Guardian" etched in the corner of glass.
