Cheap repops I bought off ebay. 15x8 6 lug "corvette style" rally rims w/ 4-1/2" backspacing. They came with metal trim rings and *gasp* plastic center caps

They look great for only $350! I really like them (and they get compliments often )

I like the white top, it really sets the color off. I need to get a rear bumper for mine and I found one through LMC for about 250 bucks. (brackets, lic mounting... etc...) I really like the way your truck worked out. Congrats. I just can't wait to get mine back on the road soon.

Later for now, D

THANKS! I guess I'm about a year behind on updates to the truck

I needed to install a tranny cooler so I wouldn't burn up my 700R4. So I bought this off ebay and put it on. Been on there for about a year, seems to be working great.

I installed it on the front of the front cross member. *Someday* I'll put some nicely bent tubing on it, but for now, I have rubber lines.

Re: Not another build thread! Progress on my '67

Let's see, what else have I done to her?

Oh yeah, I painted the top white. I did it with spray cans (flat white with spray can clear on top) and in certain lighting it looks like crap, but for the most part, looks good. I accidentally cut through the paint with a buffer last year on the top of the roof and needed a quick fix. Always wanted a white roof. When I get a house late this year/early next year, I'll get some *real* paint with a spray gun and possible try painting the whole roof white (including the A pillars and door window surrounds.)

I did this in my apt. complex's parking lot. If I remember correctly, it was hot as crap that day.

Re: Not another build thread! Progress on my '67

What else? Oh yea! VINTAGE AIR!!!

Here's the complete install thread I did:

http://www.67-72chevytrucks.com/vboa...d.php?t=249479

It blows really really really cold air. Works awesome even in 95+ degree temps.

It's pretty detailed, so here's the finished products:

Re: Not another build thread! Progress on my '67

Vintage Air recommends you use a 4 core radiator. I had a 3 core and thought I could get away with it. Maybe if my truck was a manual I could have, but it's an automatic, so the radiator couldn't take it and the truck was consistently running 200-205 degrees in traffic. Not good. So I spend the $$ and bought a giant 4 row radiator. Now I have a new problem, in the summer it's been getting up to operating temp easy, but when I was driving the truck in the winter months it took a good 15-20 minutes for the truck to "warm up," therefore, my heater took forever to get warm. I only have a 10-15 minute drive to work. I had a lot of cold mornings

Re: Not another build thread! Progress on my '67

I got the interior finally done!!!!

Only took, like, almost 2 years

I did a white face conversion on my dash. Cleaned up all the needles, bought a new plastic face, and repainted the bezel. I like how it turned out. I also did the white face conversion to the A/C controller while I was rebuilding it (a link to the rebuild in is my Vintage Air install thread.)

Re: Not another build thread! Progress on my '67

I really like blue and white so I re-did my '72 style door panels.

I like how they turned out. I also painted the speaker kick panels to match as well. Unfortunately, the SC summer sun got a little carried away and the heat caused my seat to tear. It's a really cheap/thin material. Guess I'll have to get an OEM style cover.

Re: Not another build thread! Progress on my '67

I wanted the glovebox door to match the dash, so I painted the backside and outside edge silver and used a cheap bed liner spray for the middle. I added a CST style badge to the door, my truck is far from stock, and I thought it looked cool, so what the heck?

I also had chipflyer do up a new glovebox door sticker that's an exact match to the original.

Re: Not another build thread! Progress on my '67

I think that's about it for what's actually been done?

Future plans:

I went to NY to visit my family last summer and I scored a free power steering set-up from my Grandpa's old '72. My truck has a complete suspension set-up from a '71, so after I "dimple" my 67 frame, I'm hoping it's a direct bolt in. The pump and steering box were covered in engine oil, so are all in very good condition.

I also met board member gcburdic up in NC and bought the short fleet bed he had for sale. It was 350 miles round trip, if I'm remembering right. Got a good deal on it, but it needs a good bit of TLC and some new parts.

Re: Not another build thread! Progress on my '67

I went to carlisle, PA with my pops a few weeks ago and was able to pick up a brand new front bed panel for $110 and some FREE wheel tubs!!!! They're basically completely rotten around the mounting areas, but that's it, and they're almost completely ding free. The ones I have now look like someone took a sledgehammer to them, but are rust free, so considering new ones are $100 a pop, I'm going to tweak my welding skills and combine the two

I was also able to pick up a nice OEM tailgate. I looked at several repops at Carlisle, but I just wasn't happy with any of them. The one I got isn't perfect, but very fixable

Oooops, almost forgot about the seatbelts I bought. They're 3 point. Work very well. The buckles aren't quite long enough so I bought some extenders, but haven't installed them yet

Re: Not another build thread! Progress on my '67

The odometer rolled past 100K recently, or 200K, or 300K....

I've put a good 7K or so on the old girl since November 2006.

Re: Not another build thread! Progress on my '67

That's it for now.

If I ever get a home with a garage I hope to get started on the bed. I'll have plenty of time to work on it while leaving the 67 completely untouched until I'm ready to do the swap

Stay tuned....

Read the thread start to finish, nice driver, lots of work. I can't believe you kept a woman thru the build. My wife is happy to see my project finished, she calls it the orange monster. Awesome job - hope to see a frame restore in the future.
