silly questions?
I have replaced the outer floor pans in my 64 chevy. There are drain holes? in the new pans. Are there plugs out there for these or am I going to have to fill them?
Also, when looking from the inside of truck down into the cab corner I can still see the ground even after replacing pans, corners, rockers, etc... I'm not real crazy about the elements having such easy access into the cab. Is there a trick to closing this in or is it supposed to have a gap there? |

I can get some pics of the cab corner space later today. The actual outer floorpan shows the holes in the LMC catalog but the factory pan didn't have these.

I havent had to purchase these parts, but they arent the holes for the sill plates, are they? 6 holes in a straight line roughly an inch away from the weather strip? Just a thought.

A good thought but not the case. These are two holes at the back edge of the floor pan up on the hump part. They are about 1" in diameter. Unfortuantely I will have to drill the sill plate holes.

Who did you buy the pans from?
I don't remember any holes in the ones I bought.... You might just have to patch them....

Bought the panels from LMC. I guess I will try and plug them. The rocker panel plug fits the larger hole. I'm probably just missing something stupid here but they look to be drain holes of some kind. Page 16 of the LMC catalog has the outer floor panel, number 4, it shows the two holes. I never paid any attention until I started putting them in.

I bought those panels too and I think the holes are only on the drivers side. I say that you could either get some rubber plugs or just weld them up. As far as the holes in the cab corners, I believe they were manufactured like that because the gas tank is in that area and then the cover goes over the gas tank. Maybe the holes are there for safety reasons? I may be wrong but that's my theory.
