very nice! I like how the wood bed seems to have a subtle blue tone to it. I'm confused though, what do you mean by "one of a kind"?

The 14 bolt axle in the rear that didn't exist at the time is a good start

By “one of a kind” I meant based on condition/appearance, not based on factory options… I would have said “incredible” instead if I thought about it for 2 seconds…

I love the white hubcaps, nice touch with the white roof.

Re: one of a kind 71 K10 - BaT

Very nice truck, thanks for sharing the link. The Custom Deluxe cloth seat is my favorite of the entire era - especially in blue. Really like it when restorers don't take the quick route on that detail. I do realize I'm in the minority for liking wood beds to be painted body color like the factory painted them, but I really do like the blue tint the builder did on this wood, nice touch. For some reason, I never came around to white caps on white wheels - but I appreciate the originality. And speaking of originality - this is probably one of very, very few 71 restos you'll see where the builder took the time to include the perimeter stripe on the grille - nicely done!! Thanks again for sharing, real nice K10

Glad to get the Jocko approval, you never share a mediocre pickup.

Re: one of a kind 71 K10 - BaT

I read "12-bolt rear" in the description. Where did 14-bolt come from? Very nicely done indeed. I did a wood floor in my friends original paint '72 Cheyenne Super/20 Custom Camper. I got a quart of matching paint and thinned it to a stain as a way to not stand out as so new. As far as original, painted hubcaps never came on 4wds, but they do look good. I always swapped to deluxe side markers, too. I had a '72 K/10 Custom Deluxe 350/TH350 medium blue w/white top, blue interior, and wood floor. No cab lights, but mine had tow hooks... so there! Almost identical in the next year

Thanks Tim - I forgot about that little tidbit, great point(!) This is one of those rare trucks where the original buyer did not splurge for the PO3s - so it would have delivered hubcapless (if that's a word).

Let's have those non-original parts removed immediately... Sacrilege I say(!!)

Also noted this is a D89 truck - a little detail that seldom makes its way back into a restoration.

Have you seen a paint stripe added back on like original, and done well?

I love the marker lamps, especially being original.

Not many to start with I guess.

Many don’t even repaint the tailgate letters.

Super nice restoration, anyone venture a guess what it sells for? I heard a 67 recently sold for 250K, the guy said it wasn't that nice. I know of one that sold for 150K. I'll guess a round number of 100K for that truck. The internet brings deep pockets for these.

.

The answer is right there in the new ad:

"This is a re-list after the vehicle was previously sold on BaT in July 2023. The previous listing did not disclose the blemishes atop the bedside rails, which was not intentional on the seller’s part. The seller and the winning bidder agreed not to complete the sale as a result. The buyer’s fee was refunded, and we sincerely apologize for the oversight."

.

Re: one of a kind 71 K10 - BaT

Maybe it’s down into my price range now due to the bolt holes…
