1968 C20 Temp & Fuel Gauge Issue

Hello,

I was needing some advice to resolving an issue that I am having. I recently replaced the engine on my truck and in the process removed all the wiring to simplify things. Once everything got put back together, and headed out for an evening stroll, upon turning on the headlights the fuel gauge and the temperature gauge go off the chart past full and hot. Both gauges function properly when the lights remain off. The headlights, taillights, turn signals all work accordingly. Ive been trying to troubleshoot the matter to no success. Any pointers and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Bad, missing or not enough grounds. Most electrical issues are due to insufficient grounding. Since you just replaced your engine there is probably some stuff that was disturbed or not reattached.

Can't have too many grounds. Engine strap to frame, body to frame, etc etc.
