Re: Project LEFTOVERS!!
The lowering kit is a RFW original. Cut a round and half off the front and heat to suit! It ended up being a 3/5 drop and it still rides pretty good. Anything lower they start to bottom out too easy. I wouldn't do this on a nice truck, but for my beater its fine. Cost of mod: $0.00!

Gah! What is that horrendous gold thing on the front bumper?!
Aside from that, thing, you have an awesome truck and the drop is killer. It has a lot of character and just that perfect look, keep at it.

White wagon wheels do look great when you put a trim ring on them and try to make them look like ralleys!!! Other than that........they are used as rims to coil air hoses on and keep frames rolling around here.

Re: Project LEFTOVERS!!
The paint fix actually looks really good. I know if I'd try to pull that off it would've looked like a two different shades of blue and white glob on the door
As for the Tide, as long as it isn't blue, orange, and have a u and an f involved I can usually tolerate it. It'll be interesting to see what Saban can make happen this coming season...but I ain't sure he's ready for my Bulldogs!!

Re: Project LEFTOVERS!!
Really not an update, just wanted to say that I'm still driving and enjoying the old girl. I'm still at less than $1300 total on the build and still trying to decide what door logo I want to go with. I had some work done on my '69 today, and I drove this truck to pick it up. I left this one at my buddy's shop, and caught a ride to come back get it a little while later. He said in the short time I was gone, 3 people stopped and asked what he wanted for it. He restore old cars and truck and usually always has something for sale, and the people thought it was his. He joked that he should trade me out of it and put his shoo logo on it and use it as parts runner.

Re: Project LEFTOVERS!!
No updates to report lately. I've just been driving and enjoying it. I'm still up in the air about a door logo. I've been working so much on my dually lately that I haven't done much to the others.
As far as mileage, I have done an official fuel mileage check, but my red '69 gets around 15-16 in town, and this one seems to do that good or a little better judging by how many gallons I use to drive it back and forth for a week. I drive it town to and from work. It doesn't like sustained Interstate speeds with 3.73's.

Re: Project LEFTOVERS!!
Still no real update - yet! - but I'm still driving 'er and enjoying it. This has turned out to be the best $1000 vehicle I've ever bought. Its been almost a year since I bought it, and my red '69 hasn't made it to paint yet. I decided before I I had it painted, that I wanted to put in a whole new drivetrain, so I have a new engine on the stand and new OD tranny waiting to go in.
As for this truck, I'm thinking about dropping it a little more. I know you 6 banger fans are gonna growl at me, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to replace the 250/3OTT/3.73 combo that's in it now with the 350/TH350/3.08 combo that is currently in my red truck. They actually get about the same mileage, but the red one is WAY more highway friendly. It runs a lot stronger too. I recentlylowered the red one, and I had both in out the in front yard yard and snapped a few pics.
