Really nice work, combination of LS2, tranny, and those wheels are killer! Should be a great look when done. I'm subscribed

Blazer frame is different than the truck frame

Not sure but dont you have to raise the motor in a converted 4x4 did they make you taller motor mounts for your dropmember

No, usually when converting a 4wd frame to a 2wd you move the engine forward. The dropmember puts the engine in the correct position.

Got some more work done to the driver side floor pan today and also picked up some new bed sides to cut down and replace the old ones.

Thanks, I got a couple tricks up my sleeve that will make it totally different than any other firewall out there. Will have pics of what I am talking about here in a couple of days.

Looking good, I guess being a previous 4x4 helps with rear tire clearance, no? The frame is narrower above the diff. What color shall it be?

I wish it did. But going with 22x12 I have to narrow the rear 3 1/2 - 4 inches on each side.

You need to narrow the frame 4" on each side? Must be alot of backspace in those rims! Worked on mine a little lately, need to update my build thread. Keep goin man!!

How are you filling in those huge gaps without burning through the metal? Are you using copper behind it to catch the weld?? Im having issues with burn-through and getting good penetration and could use some advice.

No, Not the frame. Im narrowing the rearend. There is plenty of room with the frame.

Im not sure what huge gaps you are referring to. The metal is closer than you think. Im not using anything behind the welds. Sounds like maybe you need to turn the heat down on your welder some.

looking killer those wheels are sweet, i want some billet wheels bad !!but i guess mine will work for a while i want to get it painted then i will worry about switching wheels!! it amazing how much more expensive the billet ones are

Ran out of gas on my welder so couldnt finish it up but you can get the idea of what I am doing. I am making the drivers side of the firewall match the passenger side by shaving the area where the wiring harness, emerg brake, etc.... used to be. When I get more gas monday I will finish it up and get more pics
