In-Cab Air Filter? 2004 Silverado

2004 Silverado 1500 Ext Cab 4WD 5.3L engine.

I heard that there is an air filter inside the truck for passenger comfort. Where is that located? Thanks, LBJ

GM removed that starting in 2003. The indention is still on the HVAC box and you can retrofit it. There's a thread somewhere out there.

Heres a video showing you how to access it.

Like it was said above a 2004 wouldn't have the filter any longer. My 2002 Yukon XL had it- the worst part was getting the screw started for the trim panel above the transmission hump.

Thanks guys, I never heard any year model reference on the TV. One of those many car repair/redo shows. LBJ

Re: In-Cab Air Filter? 2004 Silverado

There's a cabin air filter retrofit post listed in the HVAC section of the FAQ sticky.
There's actually a GM TSB showing how to install the filters.

RTFM... GM Parts Books, GM Schematics, GM service manuals, and GM training materials...Please include at least the year and model in your threads. It'll be easier to answer your questions.
And please let us know if and how your repairs were successful.
