Re: best place for inner fender wells?

I was in the same position you are and I lucked out by finding some locally through the truck club I belong to. $125 with shipping doesn't seem so bad. Shipping from LMC on a $99 inner wheel well was $125 because of truck freight. I couldn't do that. My truck ain't showroom quality.

BEWARE of inner fenders with lots of wrinkles. OEM inners had none. There are some guys around here who order inner fenders and they have lots and lots of wrinkles.

Re: best place for inner fender wells?

I ended up cutting out the rust and welding mine because shipping on repops was so expensive and there wasn't anything available locally.

Re: best place for inner fender wells?

The Houston area is a bit lucky - We have Outback Truck Parts on the north side and they have a large inventory. I've bought numerous large parts including 2 inner fenders (and a ton of other items a well). You can pick the parts up at their place (great folks too) and drive away, saving the additional shipping! That kind of savings can add up quickly, especially when shipping can be as much as the part, effectively doubling your cost!

Re: best place for inner fender wells?

I suggest you put a want to buy ad in a local forum and see what happens. Two weeks on craigslist may not you what you need. It has worked for me several times.

Re: best place for inner fender wells?

I just received LH and RH inner fenders from Rock Auto for $275 shipped w/tax included ($153 before tax shipped). Quality looks good (no wrinkles). But, the first thing I checked was the LH inner fender hole/nut pattern for the steering shaft cutout closure bracing...close but no cigar. So, I either elongate the holes in the brace or move the captured nuts on the inner fender. I know the right answer, but I might just get lazy and do the easy fix. I have not checked location of any other holes at this time.

I second the Jegs deal. I purchased the Keyparts branded ones with no additional shipping charges.

The stampings looks nice with no wrinkles. Fit was poor so I'm going to cut and weld on them. Seems they fall right on for some people and others have to fight them. I'm working with original '68 fenders and aftermarket core support. I had a previous set from several years ago that also fit poorly. I was hoping a different branded version might help, but no luck. I cut the inner wheel lip from the rest of the inner fender and bolted them up separately with no issues. I'll then scribe the overlap line between the sections and weld the two pieces back together. Easier said than done.

The AMD branded inner fenders on the Jegs site have a $109 truck freight charge. The Jegs branded inner fenders and Keyparts inner fenders do not have additional freight charges.

I agree Summit and Jegs do have quite a few items, but be careful and look for fine print. Both Goodmark and AMD have additional shipping charges at Summit. Although if they fit good, it's probably worth it.
