Update to my previous thread

Still haven't gotten the 72 GMC k2500 home vv, she's still calling from down the road. Busy season started for the machine shop my dad works at, he hasn't had the time, and is to cheap to call and have it towed. Hopefully this weekend we'll get her home, the Steering wheel Terry B sent me has arrived, looks excellent compared to the one in the truck. Still on the hunt for rims, I'm going to stick with 16s, I can't stand them ridiculous oversized rims on these trucks. I know a lot of rims will fit, but what looks good? Does anyone have pictures of what they put on theirs?

Glad the wheel made it OK. If you search threads on here you will find info on restoring steering wheel's. I think you fill the crack's with jb weld sand and paint. Good luck with the truck. If you need any other small parts let me know I am scraping a 1971 C- 30.

Yeah my buddy did the steering wheel on his 59 T Bird and it looked like new.

He used some sort of epoxy, I can't remember. It was a few years back, and I've lost too many brain cells in that time.

I got lucky and found a wheel that had been pulled off a van in the early 70's and was like new.

I think they replaced it with this

I was getting ready to message you and thank you again Terry, I'm going to need to replace door hinge pins on the drivers side, the passenger side is healthy, do you know if parts stores carry replacements?

Re: Update to my previous thread

Let me check the hinges on the C-30 it only had 60.000 miles on it as it was a camper. If they are good I will send you them before I scrap it. Going in for a hart catherization on Monday. Will be moving slow for a while after that. But I won't forget. Terry.
