Rear bed support wire harness grommet?

Anyone know where to get one? I'm unable to locate one, perhaps using the wrong name.

Thanks

Re: Rear bed support wire harness grommet?

That's just a generic aftermarket firewall grommet someone used after cutting the original harness probably to wire for trailer lights . The original harness has the pass thru grommet built into the harness itself .

Agree with your rear harness boot, it runs through the rear cross member.

The rear harness runs from the boot connection through this grommet before it distributes to the L & R side. Both my truck have/had the grommet per the OP. Not to say you're wrong.

It's a split grommet, so can probably cut something fit. The old one off my C10 is decent enough, the picture is my C20.

There are similar holes that run into the passages L & R side. Neither of my trucks had a grommet on either side, though split grommets or? would be an option.

Re: Rear bed support wire harness grommet?

I think that’s oem for the rear lamp harness and I’d like two myself.

Re: Rear bed support wire harness grommet?

71Chevyshortbed402,

I took off the original one that was in bad shape and Made a new on using trailer wire. I copied the one I took off. Used the original connector so I can still plug it in.

Here are the measurements. This one came off my C10, it's still nice after all these years, though new might be more betta.

On a side, I mentioned a hole in the rear bed support for the passages up to each side of the rear lights - the holes in the panels are not 1". I don't believe GM installed grommets there, so the wires rub the panel if not accounted for.

May work. The groove may lean a little thin, but the panel for the rear cross brace is approx. 1/16".

Re: Rear bed support wire harness grommet?

I just bought 10 grommets for cheap. Don't know the panel size, but they look right, and the ID & OD are correct. Will send some to Deadhead and ? if they work.

Re: Rear bed support wire harness grommet?

I'd have to look but think that size might be in the box of grommets I bought from Summit a while back.

Summit part number Sum-890090 https://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-890090

Usually you can find individual ones in the pull out trays above the bolts at better stocked Ace hardware stores though .

Think I found some NOS examples. “RTR” is molded on the rubber.

Talking Re: Rear bed support wire harness grommet?

I have no idea if the right sizes is in the box but I bought a box with about 8 different sizes @ Lowes the other week. I saw them in the wiring section and figured they would be good to have. Just in case.

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
