Re: Brothers one piece window

Hi Richard, I also was going to install this kit on my truck, but after doing some research and reading forums about that you have to modify the door and or tracks. And people were talking about after they had wind noise and door/window rattling. I myself decided to rebuild my existing wing window assemblies. Good luck on your ventures. Thanks Chuck

There is or was a guy here on the forum that rebuilds them. I believe his last name is Kopp? He did mine and they turned out great.

I installed them in mine. I like them. Just be sure to put a new filler in the window track.

Re: Brothers one piece window

Just curious how much of a rebuild are you guys thinking of? I cleaned and shined mine up and replaced the rubber and it was not crazy hard to do. GMCPauls Truck Parts has the stuff necessary to do it.

To each his own, but I don't understand the idea of buying these older trucks and then "updating" them like this. Vent windows are part of the appeal to me.

I've seen people who put later model beds on these trucks. I just don't get it. If you want a newer truck, get one. Heck they are cheaper!

Yes, mine too. But with some car wax and steel wool the chrome cleaned up and looked very nice. Then I replaced the rubber seal. On the long channel inside the door I cleaned that up and painted it just to keep the rust from eating through it over the next 50 years.

Mine are from core doors that I needed all the door linkage and such for my new GM doors. So I think that I will have to totally replace my wing window assemblies. But thanks for the information.

Re: Brothers one piece window

Back on the main topic. I bought the one piece window kit just because of the noise of the vent windows. I am not ready yet to install them. Who here has installed them and what do you think?

I think the OPP is the best looking kit but most of the reviews I’ve read are negative... Do they make a non power window kit?
