I'd like to find repro rubber grommets for where the harness exists the kickpanel.

Re: Blazer courtesy lights

Looks like the color of the reflectors, you purchased, is closer to the factory tint than the ones from American Auto Wire.
You will really like the extra light these provide.
Gives the inside a nice look at night.

I just used Grommets I purchased in a bulk pack. Look factory and no one will ever know.

I have gotten very used to inside lighting that I have had in my Ford Mustangs and my Edges. I have given some thought of installing some extra LED lighting strips but I much rather use the "correct" Blazer courtesy lights.

seeing you guys are talking about firewall grommets (responding DeadheadNM?) - where did you buy your bulk pack? This has kind of been on my to do list to fine a pack that would be useful, as I have at least one I need to replace (for where the washer hoses came through the firewall).

Grommets
https://www.amazon.com/200PCS-Gromme...l%2C240&sr=1-3
$10.
I'm guessing that Harbor Freight may also have something close.

Re: Blazer courtesy lights

MY '71 GMC JIMMY came with the under dash courtesy lights. I repaired the passenger side lamp holder, but the drivers side got torn or twisted off by a PO [or his dog].
Is it possible to buy just one of the lamp holders, [Lamp-to-Harness connection] or do I have to get the whole kit?

Thought so.
I may have to rig a bigger light under the drivers dash, so I can fill out my logbook at night. [I keep a log so I know how many miles I've run, and when I last filled up. Gas tank is inaccessable behind an armored 1/4'' steel plate.]
I have an old military cockpit light -- focusable, Red/White lensed, and self-dimmable -- changed out the 24 volt bulb for a 12 volt, and soldered a cigar plug on the Mic-type coil cord... But I'd rather that operated out of the opened center console, and independent of the Dome Light/ Courtesy Light circuit.

Unless some one has an incomplete harness they'd part out?

Thank you for these photos Already Gone.

These were the only holes I had on my 72 C10 on both sides - which are a bit big. Assuming these are the correct holes, I wonder if some kind of a grommet is suppose to go in the hole. Or perhaps the dome mount is suppose to have a collar to fill the hole?

I had to double up washers and my hardware is all silver. Perhaps I can find something at Lowe's / Home Depot, otherwise I'll need to paint what I have black.

Walmart actually had a (ton) of 1003 bulbs and nicely packaged in pairs!

Let there be light!

Interesting how much the pricing of what appears to be the same part varies;

Re: Blazer courtesy lights

I am happy with the classicparts.com one, the wire coloring matches what is in my truck. Though looking at their site, it is shown out of stock now.

I also ended up going with Sylvania 89's which are 13v 7.5 watts (replaced the 1003's). The bulb glass is a bit smaller too.

Re: Blazer courtesy lights

I talked to a guy at Ron Francis yesterday about just buying the last 5 or 6 inches from the connector to the bulb holder. But they would only sell the harness as a whole.

Re: Blazer courtesy lights

I just need a few things, 1 x globe holder, 1 x door jamb switch, but looks like can't get globe holder by it's self

I like that Classic Parts looks original, but is showing out of stock

There is one at Lectriclimited that looks to be a good replica
https://www.lectriclimited.com/court...harness-115396
https://www.lectriclimited.com/court...switch-harness
https://www.lectriclimited.com/court...-switch-103933

Anyone used their stuff?

Re: Blazer courtesy lights

Too funny. Guess I will pass.
However, this switch is used on almost every chevy from the 60's. Identical to one's on my Chevelle. Should not be too difficult to find.

I aways check several sources before I buy any auto part. A small amount of time on the computer can save a lot of money. I also look at shipping when buying.
