Travel Tanks

On the Burb I just bought it has the extra "Travel Tanks" brand steel gas tank under the second seat. This was made by the same company that made the side saddle tanks with the aluminum doors for the pickups. I did a web search and can't find anything about "Travel Tanks" and am assuming they were defunct before the internet was started. Does anyone know what size the tank on my Burb would be. The tank goes from front to back and side to side under the second seat.

Re: Travel Tanks

Just measure the tank, length x width x height in inches, then divide by 232 for US gallons. Depending on where the filler lands if it goes into the side of the tank you might use that for an estimated lower height. Since this is a total volume figure about 10% off for actual usable capacity.

My guesstimate from pictures, 58 x 16 x 8 / 232 = 32 x .9 ~ 29 gallons US

Re: Travel Tanks

Wow, a 29 gallon extra tank would be super. When I get the Burb home, another week or so probably that is the first thing I'll do. J
