Radiator Support Question

What is the difference between the 6 and 8 cylinder radiator supports? Does one move the radiator closer to the front of the truck? I'm looking for a way to get just a little more room between my engine and the radiator.

my truck was an original v8 truck and i just moved the support forward-the holes were already there --gave me 4" of room for my electric fan--i did have to shim the lower supports for proper alignment
