Unable to upload pics [again]

it's been like this for a few days now, I tried to report it to the admins, wondering if it's effecting others too?

getting this dreaded error:

Your submission could not be processed because a security token was missing.

If this occurred unexpectedly, please inform the administrator and describe the action you performed before you received this error.

FYI: I was only trying to upload one pic at a time at this point and still no dice

Re: Unable to upload pics [again]

Normally that error is when the picture is too big for the board to resize. With that said I know they are doing things to the server, but I am able to load pics.

Negative Ghost Rider, I take them with my iPhone but then I copy them to my PC (like I have been doing for 8 years) using a USB cable then I upload them to the Forum using my office computer

Re: Unable to upload pics [again]

I will say, I can upload one full size phone picture at a time and the board software seems to do OK. However, it will not handle multiples of original as taken size. By the way, iphone just upgraded there software recently on the iphone which changed some format items of the pictures and transfer of pictures. I was helping some one with theirs and noticed the format changes. I am not an iphone/apple products user so I dodn't keep up with them as much as I do with the andrord/samsung stuff.

Re: Unable to upload pics [again]

so what I do, always, is bring my photos (from iPhone) to my MacBook and I use a image tool called "SnagIt". Here I resize (always), covert to jpg (sometimes mark it up with arrows / text). I also sometimes / often crop too.

This does:
1. Insure the photo will always upload - especially multiples.
2. Image is always in the correct orientation (no flipping needed).

When I catch a members image needing flipping, this is what I use to help them out. I think you can do this on Windows 10 with its built in Photo app.

So speaking on working on the server ... you ever hear of any progress from Josh on updating the forums software (VB)? It is no easy task, I get that and it isn't like VB is the greatest company anymore.

I size all of my pictures down to 1150 pixels wide and never have a problem uploading them. That still leaves them a decent size for viewing on the computer screen and fills the screen just right. I use the basic Photoshop software to edit them.

Re: Unable to upload pics [again]

I upload from the gallery. Some work, some don't. Even old pic's that I have posted before. There is no option to copy and paste on some and it works fine on others.

Re: Unable to upload pics [again]

plot thickens, so I forgot about my little upload problem this morning, and uploaded a pic to a different thread of mine just fine

[please forgive the blatant self promotion, I swear that is not intentional here (Big Lie)]

My Dusty 71 GMCe Electruck

so I rushed back to my problematic thread and tried to upload a pic again this morning (mind you pics all taken with the same iPhone and uploaded using the same office computer, like I have done for a decade) yes the trucks are different, ha ha

A '54 named Busty

and here's the error I get (let's see if I can upload the screen shot here, that would be ironic if I could not)

Re: Unable to upload pics [again]

Have you turned your phone off in a while?
Or your computer?

Letting your phone reboot will not cost anything
It may not be the problem, but it won't hurt to try.

I have recently change from Windows 10 to Windows 11.

I had to adapt to a small change.

Maybe something has changed in the computer format stuff.

That message almost always means that the picture is too large. It seems that the board software has a problem with the picture width, not necessarily with the length. Try sizing it down to 1150 pixels wide and see what it does. Usually the board software will handle it from there. Let us know the outcome.

well Snap Crackle Pop, thank you so much LockDoc that was it, I usually post horizontal pics but in this case I rotated it and this Forum just refused to upload it, so I flipped it back to horizontal and it took it, but but but.... this makes no sense at all, cause if you look in the post above (in my original thread) there is not one, not two, but three vertical pics uploaded !!!

let me try to upload that vertical pic here (for science and shiet) - nope can't

let's try a different vertical pic - what the he11 that one worked, so it's only the one pic this is bizarre
