1970 K10 Shortbed stepside (not cut down) $5200

SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD. THANK YOU EVERYONE!!

PRICE DROP TO $4,500. AS OF 11/29/2021 This truck was advertised recently but deal fell through. This is an original 1970 1/2 ton 4x4 SHORTBED with documentation to prove it. Not a cut down longbed. Very rare. Price is firm unless you want to offer me more.

I have a clean title (in NYS this is called a transferable registration) with the correct VIN on it. The VIN tag on the cab matches the VIN label on the glove box, and the glovebox clearly says 115" wheelbase.

The truck has 4x4, PS, PB and limited slip rear. The motor is NOT original to the truck. It is a 400 small block out of a 1975 K10. It is very tight and runs very nicely. When I first got the truck I planned on doing a complete restoration which is why I went west and found the cab-- but my life has taken a different direction due to cancer showing up in my wife. Priorities then changed radically and quickly.

Leaking PS and AY transmission lines were replaced.
It runs well, goes forward and back and stops but would need work to get it back on the road. last inspected 2020. All four tires match and are mounted on OEM GM ralley wheels. They hold air but are meant as rollers only. I have no caps or trim rings. Best use is for RESTORATION.

It also has a limited slip rear end, 3.08 gears.

The front grill obviously came from a 1971/72 Chevy, and it is in very nice shape. The front axle with the disc brakes probably came out of a 1972 truck. They look rough but the do work so that is a positive feature.

Just a friendly word of advice: every piece of sheet metal is rusty. It will all have to be replaced. I have a rust-free cab and other parts that I will sell with this truck but that is another story for someone who will talk to me about actually buying this wonderful diamond in the rough.

Please note the SANDBLASTED photos. Someone wanted to know how well the rust would clean up around critical parts such as the spring perches, and I would say it cleaned up very well. This is a SOLID FRAME.
Can be seen in downtown Schuyler Lake, just outside of fabulous Cooperstown NY, 13326
I also have a red cab with both of its original uncut doors for sale that is almost rust free. It came from desert of California, I will sell it with the truck for additional $2100. I will not sell it by itself until or unless the buyer of this truck declines it.

A few more photos. I am showing just one photo of the red cab. It is a very solid cab I have lots more. I am only showing one photo of a spring perch. I have others. I sandblasteed a few locations on the truck to see how well things cleaned up and I was quite impressed. This is a very solid frame.

Thank You for writing Tom. I will let you know if anyone buys the truck and decides they do not want to buy the red cab too. I am giving first chance to whoever buys the gold truck.

I wish someone could explain to me why my photos always show up different (sideways). Today they are all off by 90 degrees. They are upright when I post them, and I cannot figure out a way to make corrections. Thanks if you can help me out. __George

If you always put the button you press for the pic on your right as you take the pic… that should fix your problem. Good luck!

As mentioned it has to do with how phone is held when picture is taken. Couple of tips- Always use the preview post button before posting to check pictures. I have found that if you upload the pictures to a windows computer simply open them with paint then save. If they are not correct you can turn, re-size, crop, etc. Just save when changes are made.

Exactly what I try to follow and do if they come out sideways.

Thanks Tom, I still appreciate that you have an interest In the cab and doors. But right now I am still saving it until I sell the truck. So if you can find me a buyer I will be sure to give you first shot at the cab.

Thank you! She is doing as weak as we can expect right now. More needs to be done soon. I am going to try to do a price drop on this truck, by changing the first page. Drop to 4,000. The extra red cab is not included

Nice it’s also a step side which makes it every rarer. Any chance the frame numbers but the steering box match the last 8 of the vin. Thanks much , Thomas

Congrats on the sale. Best of wishes and prayers to you and your wife. If you’re ever so inclined on selling the 67 4x4, send me some pics and a price and I might be interested to coming out to Cooperstown in spring.

Thanks for writing. I doubt I will sell the 67 for awhile. I have never spent so much time and money on a truck as this one. Part of the problem is that I bought a project that was started 30 years ago and a large majority of the parts were in boxes. And not everything was there. So i had to do a lot of work tracking things down, and as I found out the 67 has many one-of-a-kind parts. Here are a few recent photos. it is coming together.
