Re: The GSFMech Build

It's an old Edelbrock Torker, they quit making them years ago and I know I could use a better more modern intake. I always thought they were cool and wanted to run it. They make real good low end and mid range power for a single plane manifold.

Then I got on the master cylinder. I tore everything apart, stripped and repainted and used all new rubber grommets and seals and installed it. Then I bled the brakes

Re: The GSFMech Build

Then I installed the headliner and got back assembling the dash. I finished up the dash and then got the side glass in. I used all new weather strip, fuzzies etc. and a new set of GM door rubbers I got from Wynne (HuggerCST). This thing is tight.

Then I got the insulation and carpet, seats etc. back in, its wild how the color flops out in the sun in that first photo. I'm going to change the carpet after the Pate swap meet, it's stained and worn worse than I remember

I then got back up front and installed the condenser, filter drier etc. I still need to charge the AC. I had bought a o-ring kit from Chevy duty so hopefully there will be no leaks.

Re: The GSFMech Build

Of course I had to take it for a spin. Yee haw, it's been a long time.

When I get back home (I'm at work now) I'll get the trim back on, bumpers hood etc. and we have a little more polishing to do on the paint. I'm getting real excited about getting it back on the road. You never really finish a project like this. I still have a lot of plans for it down the road.

Looking great! I like the torker intake and the detail in the engine bay. The all medium blue look is nice too.

Well I'm not sure about the lizard skin yet, I don't have the door panels in yet and I had the windows down. I should be able to give a good report when I get done and get it out on the road.

Bill I'm ready to go to CTC with it as well. Unless the sky falls I will have it there for sure.

Wow, you didn't waste any time on reassembly, I enjoy seeing your attention to detail. It all looks great. Let me know when you get your new carpet in, I'd be interested in buying your old one to get me by until I get mine done.

Thanks Chris. I sent you a PM about the carpet.

Hey how much longer before we see your trucks in print? I guess they don't tell you that. I don't want to miss it, I have a hard time keeping up being gone half the time.

He told me six months to a year and a half is the average time frame after the shoot, that was the beginning of June, so some time this year??? I hope soon, I'm not a very patient person anyways and this wait is killing me!

Re: The GSFMech Build

Time for another update. A lot has went on since I posted and I did not have a chance to take any photos of my own. A buddy of mine captured me riding around one evening and took these. I want to clean it up and get it out in the sun and take some photos when I get a chance. Anyway until then these will have to do. I have it on the road but still have lots I want to do to it and will update as I progress.

Last for now.

Oh yeah, for those that asked the Lizard skin makes a BIG difference. You can't feel any engine heat at all and it's much quieter. I can't wait for warm weather and try the AC.
