This is such great news, man. I was fortunate enough to get the same call late last year. Hope all goes smoothly and you get her back in the family for good. Congratulations!

Re: Got the message!!! Grandfathers 1971 GMC

Hey folks. The only reason I do not have the truck just yet is I ran into an issue on my end. But Do not worry, spoke to the people with the truck and everything is fine

I wasn’t expecting this obstacle in my way!! But I’m working around it

Apparently it runs really good and so on

I went to Denton, NC. To pick up this blue hood the other day. Drove 2 hours to get it

Here is some photos of the truck almost 3 years ago, but I’m pretty sure it looks the same

Re: Got the message!!! Grandfathers 1971 GMC

Oh. I don’t think that explains my excitement. I can’t put it into words. Literally, I am trying to keep calm and not think about it too much because my mind. Tends to obsess over things

But yes, it’s all i really think about

The issue I ran into. Was financing. Sadly, I did have it all lined up and was hit with that. However, I am working through it with one of my family members

Everyone that knows me, knows I am so happy and excited beyond belief and I am going to go through the roof when things, work out

What do you all think, I will say it feel emotionally when I see it for the first real time in person in over 11 years?

Re: Got the message!!! Grandfathers 1971 GMC

Update:

Please send good thoughts and well wish’s my way about getting the blue gmc back

I’ll find out tomorrow if I’ll be approved to go get it. If it doesn’t work out. I have one last resort… if not then I’ll have to wait a about 3 months etc

If things work out like I think it should. I will be able to go get my grandfathers blue gmc truck next week possibly. Give or take

They said everything looks good so far, but I’ll know tomorrow.

I want to bring my grandfathers blue gmc back to its home!!!!

I have always had a way of making things happen

Keep your fingers crossed!!!!!

Re: Got the message!!! Grandfathers 1971 GMC

That's awesome! Where is the truck located currently?

I see you went out to Denton to grab that hood. If you have your truck in hand and drivable by October, you should head back out to Denton with it to the C10 Fall Revival. TONS of trucks and yours would make a great addition with its story.

Re: Got the message!!! Grandfathers 1971 GMC

I’m going to get all of the dealer documents in a binder with the old photos and the protect- o plate and so on.

It’s a truck with a story behind it. That’s for sure

Re: Got the message!!! Grandfathers 1971 GMC

Congrats! Know what your going through, My truck was originally my grandfathers also. Hope yours is in better condition than mine was when i finally it. I've restored it twice since i've owned it, learned from the first time that rust in Florida is nothing to joke about! Of course this is a VERY old pic!
The 2 little boys in this pic, my sons, are now 29 & 30 yrs old.

You are a very fortunate man. Papa would be happy and is smiling down. Y'all are making me homesick for Carolina. I'm an Alleghany County boy from Sparta.I bought my '63 near Denton in Seagrove, many years ago.
