These two trucks are what convinced me to paint my 67 short bed yellow . I don't know who owns them . Being that Mar-K is charging $1,100.00 + for their lower body side mouldings it's a tough choice .

Which looks better to you the light yellow or the darker yellow ?

Wow tough choice. Grumpy thats my dilemma exactly. The cost of just one set of trim is significant, so not using it is a big cost savings. i know there are cheaper options than Mark-k but I've also seen some great looking trucks and paint and the trim looks rather old and worn shortly after.

Re: Solid colors no side moldings picture request.

lighter yellow would do it for me if i was the one deciding.my truck is olive green and white roof, white down the sides and all the moldings.i am not a big fan of the white sides and moldings but they're there, built that way, painted that way so i had to do it the same again but these trucks are very clean looking without the jewellery.

Re: Solid colors no side moldings picture request.

Pic of my '71 Custom/10 4x4 in solid blue, no lower trim. When I bought it the truck was a beat up medium green with beat lower trim, no upper. Before I found this forum there was not much out there in the way of parts connections. The usual salvage yards was about the only option with picked over skeletons for parts. These trucks have been popular for a good number of years.

Opted to have all the lower trim removed, holes filled and went solid body color, no trim. To each his own but I like the no trim look. Maybe if I would have been able to find decent used trim at the time I might have went tu-tone blue with middle panel white similar to factory.

Yeah I think the look I'm going for no moldings will look fine. I like them, but the cost is just too much to justify.

Dark blue poly is what the paint code says. Paint is now ~20 years old

Re: Solid colors no side moldings picture request.

Original medium blue on my '72. It has a white top that the previous owner painted, but it was originally all blue. I may end up painting the top blue again. When I got the truck I had intentions of adding lower molding, but the solid color look has really grown on me. I like the clean look and the fact that you can see the body lines better without molding.
