I helped my buddy get sponsored, and yes, it works great. You can hit the door on the outside and it sounds like a tank. I would absolutely say it's a good product!

Alright guys, chime in on this one. Cold or hot valve lash adjustment?? Also, there is a peice that goes in between the bed and the rear bumper, guessing it is a rock sheild?

Thank you firethorn! It is new from MAR-K in OKC. Made in USA. It was actually cheaper than the foreign made and the fitment was spot on! I did not have to "force" any of the trim to fit right. Packaging was incredible! Save money by purchasing it during their free shipping times which they run a few times a year.

Re: 1967 C10 Custom Big Window

I like to make a mess and do it hot while the engine is running, assuming you're asking about hydraulic lifters?

Solid lifters obviously engine off but hot.

Yes sir. Same here, although I took an old valve cover and cut a 1 inch slot in it the length of the cover, so no mess at all. Any benefits to doing cold??

That's debatable, I like hot because that's how I learned and most lash specs I've dealt with reference a "hot" setting and usually don't mention a "cold" setting. With hydraulic lifters it seems to be a preference thing. There are procedures for both ways. If you think about it most of our brand new engines were probably set cold. So there you go.

Now that was a notable comment!!!! Seems that it boils down to preference and builder. I would assume you get close to the same results cold or hot. Guess I have made up my mind, hot is good.......and cold is, well, cold.

I saw his Facebook posts today, he isn't hurt too bad just sore back and some cuts on his hand. He's posted that the truck is probably totaled since the frame is bent all the way to the rear bumper. Sure hate to see it, that is one fine truck and we all know how much work he put into it.

I'm sure he'll post here and give everybody the blow by blow so I won't spoil any more details. I know he's a respected guy on the board and a lot of guys want to know that he's ok.

Re: 1967 C10 Custom Big Window

Hey Guys, I'm all good.....still a little sore but a clean bill of health from the doc. Here is the lowdown on what happened. I went to the Niftee 50ees Halloween carshow (which was huge) about 800+ cars. On my way to put the truck to bed there was a fatality accident on my usual route so I took another way. Unfortunately it was fate about to happen.
As I was sitting at a redlight about a mile from my storage i heard sirens, it was the police chasing a parolee from Indiana, at over 100 mph. As the (dumba$$) got close to the intersection he slammed on his brakes and slid over 75 feet and tried to make a right hand turn, he overshot the turn and hit me head on. A Sheriff was right on his tail and got it on video. The police found a bunch of cocaine in his car too so needless to say he will be in the pokey for a while......hopefully getting poked. The Sheriffs were so upset about the loss of my truck too as they all loved trucks (go figure, it's Texas) so they did everything they could to make sure this guy has to pay the maximum fine assessed. All this means is that I should be compensated everything he has to pay as a fine. And yes, I did have classic insurance and it was covered for $40k, so we will see if American Classic insurance is up to snuff!!! I'll get the pics up as soon as I download to my computer.
