I'm digging the Monkey Ward under dash AC, when I was in AZ in the 70's I put a 60's Sears unit in my truck.

The good duct tape has the ASTM standard listed on the inside of the roll and sticks like crazy, unlike the cheap stuff. Same with electrical tape (UL listed), and tie (bailing) wire.

So I built this cup holder for a friend's 1985 Kennworth. It mounts by the passenger seat.

Not so new here in the Okie coast of Central CA - it's been around here for decades also - ever since some oky from Bakerfield mispronounced it - but it works as good as any 250 mph tape, it's just marketing.

I think Ford is a silly name - it's a shallow place to cross a river ....

Wish I could claim this one as my truck but it isn't. This is the ICON Thriftmaster. I saw these cup holder and freaking fell in love! Apparently this are out of a Mercedes G-wagon according to his video. This is the BEST idea I have ever seen! The are minimal and flip down when you aren't using them! Awesome idea!

if they flip down when your not using them, wouldn't they flip down when you have something in them also. I would have thought they should flip up when your not using them.

Re: Lets see yer cup holders!

Jyman,

I don't believe so. If you think about it, even if they weren't strong enough to hold up the cup, as soon as it gave way the bottom of the cup would simply rest agains the kick panel (where these were located) and it would act as a cradle holding the cup in place.

I like the contrast made by the audio system, with 20-30 functions, and the heater, " Off-Hi "

And in the good old days there would not have been a radio, had to be a good whistler.

Who would have thought a simple question would garner 40 responses???

Yeah I imagine so! I would love to have a window tray too. As you know these are supposed to hang on the door, but I wanted to put is where it wasn't subject to opening and closing the door with a beverage in it. That spot worked best and I can reach it fine. Guess I could have cleaned the coffee stains off for the pic!

Never thought about that! Someone had butchered the radio hole before I got the truck so the only thing that would fit was a CD player/radio. Hole was too big for a stock delete plate too. The heater is fancier than what you can see in that pic so here's another view--LOL! Unfortunately I still have to use it every day. Come on summer!

Thanks---DAC

I could have used one of those when I was driving the haul road to Prudhoe Bay back in the day. BTW I've enjoyed your work on TV. Keep it up!

khaus, you have some great products and i see you've upgraded to gold vendor
you add nothing to the conversation when pulling up old threads just to hawk your product
wrong behavior for this forum imo

Add nothing to the conversation? I am adding a new option that wasn't available at the time the thread originated. I understand if they might not be for you but I feel like they are directly applicable to the conversation and wanted to make those commenting aware of them.

Re: Lets see yer cup holders!

60.00 Bucks for cup holders might be a real stretch for a lot of guys in this group. Not that they don't spend money on their trucks but for most of us trinkets like that are not on the list and we will make do or fab out of what ever is kicking around the shop.

For me it doesn't really matter as they don't fit my build plan for my truck.
