Re: rear step bumpers

Anyone know what bumpers off any other years would fit? Like would a 85 fit a 67?

Re: rear step bumpers

Here is a true step bumper, no hitch cutout. You unbolt rails and it slides out as much as 3' then rebolt for step into door of camper. I really like this bumper.

This one was on my truck when I bought it last fall. The truck now has a chrome sport bumper.

Re: rear step bumpers

My 68 originally came with a chrome sport bumper. PO replaced it with this wrap around bumper. There is no ball in the center and it works perfectly for climbing in and out of the bed.

Re: rear step bumpers

Some aftermarket step bumper and a small letter gate off a field truck. One day will have a sport bumper and work on that gate...

Here is my back end. I have a receiver hitch under it. And yes, it is bent. I hate backing short trailers..... And yes, the truck is upside down.

Re: rear step bumpers

Step bumpers were made so the truck could pull heavy loads. Used on farms often but I do prefer the sport bumpers

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Cool thread.
Unlike the trend, i took off a sport bumper, and replaced it with this.

I think we have our winner.

On eBay now original paint k20 super: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1972-Chevro...gAAOSwh1tftGy0

I don’t notice the tailgate handle being stainless though, maybe reflecting the ochre.

Re: rear step bumpers

Nice thread . My 72 and 68 golden . Dont like the bumper on the 68 picked up a real nice factory step for it . Just need to fab up some brackets .

The 72 is on rails you loosen 4 bolts and it slides out to accommodate a slide in campers overhang

I found this at a salvage yard in KY recently. Similar to Lou Boffa's bumper. I plan to use it on my 68 LB Stepside. Name: IMG_4625 resized 2.jpg
