Trim

Good afternoon,

On my 72 C20 im stuck on trim issue. Do All 72 C20 Cheyenne
Have upper and lower trim or just lower? Mine has lower but
There is none whatsoever any indication if it had at one point
Upper trim. There are no holes for upper anywhere to be seen.
Is there any links or does anyone know about this?

Pictures for attention

Thanks

Re: Trim

For a Cheyenne, lower is standard (and is of the woodgrain variety), upper is optional. If your truck still has a SPID sheet on the glovebox door, you can confirm if yours was ordered with upper. Upper was also mandatory for a deluxe two tone paint job. So, another way to tell (if your SPID is intact) is to look for a 400 series paint code, which generally indicates a factory deluxe two tone paint job.

Re: Trim

Yes, your original paint was solid 525 Yellow (aka Grapefruit Yellow). Lots of people prefer the deluxe two tone version. Below is a fellow member's beautiful K10 (that I had the pleasure of meeting down at C10s in the Park a few years back) in the 464 RPO paint scheme - i.e. your 525 Yellow with 521 White (Frost White) as the secondary color in a Deluxe Two Tone paint scheme. Note that on the factory deluxe two tones, the door frames around the windows were white also and there is also bright paint divider trim around the back of the cab to separate the roof white from the primary color. Your Cheyenne would have had a woodgrain tailgate band instead of the big painted letters.

Re: Trim

Thanks jocko for all that information. I've never come across a
woodgrain tailgate band. Mine obviously is different. Attached
is a picture cause I'm not 100% sure

Re: Trim

What you have is correct, the woodgrain is just weathered. Here's a pic of one for reference, they are available at places like LMC and several other vendors. Here's the LMC one: https://www.lmctruck.com/1967-72-che...te-bands-color I also thought someone sold the woodgrain tape only to repair one's own trim - but can't find it - it may have been for the lower trim only and not the tailgate bad.
