Looks like I was one of the lucky ones

Back in 2012 I ordered a 383 stroker engine from United Racing Engines out of Glendale, Arizona. During that time they were a good company to deal with and highly customer focused. Now it appears that they've removed their website and disconnected their telephones. It looks as though they've scammed many people out of money with promises for engines that they never built. You can read my posts below, and then a recent 2016 article from the Glendale Star. Hopefully no one on this forum experienced a problem with these guys. Like I said... Looks like I was one of the lucky ones.

Re: Looks like I was one of the lucky ones

Glad you got lucky, and I feel for the ones that weren't so lucky.

From the article:
Quote:
The city clerk’s office in both cities confirmed that neither URE nor RRE has ever had a business license on file.
Huge red flag right there!! We all need to be aware and verify that license. We had a loss a few years back and I learned a lesson I won't forget. The guy literally locked up shop and disappeared overnight with a lot of customer's cash. Found out later he was unlicensed. What I thought was his state business license framed on the wall turned out to be just a local permit.
