2007 L94 out of Escalade.

Has anyone used one of these motors in a 67 c10? looking to get 600-800 hp out of it. Should this be a straight forward install or am I opening up a big bag of worms? Also will a turbo 400 bolt up to this motor?

Re: 2007 L94 out of Escalade.

It should fit fairly well
Many ppl have put ls engines into our trucks
Turbo400 will bolt up needs a different flywheel
Why not use the 2007 overdrive tranny ?

Here is anouther thread with many answers on this and questions that come up

LS swaps are done all the time. Maybe a mod will move this to the LsX swap section for better responses. No reason to use a TH400 though - you're better off using the trans that came with it or find the same one that should be behind it.

I would use the same trans but seems to be geared toward gas mileage and not performance. Is there a way to retune the shift points

Yes the tranny is tune able either your self or by a tune up shop should be able to change it to a more streatable tune and have overdrive for the interstate

You can email the fellow at lt1swap and ask him he is a valued resourse

Re: 2007 L94 out of Escalade.

To get 600-800 hp out of that engine a turbo or super charger will be needed for "streetable" performance.
I've done a couple 2010-2012 L92 6.2 engines and with a medium cam (225I 232E) they made 425 hp on the chassis dyno so about 500 hp at the crank. Both drove very nice on the street and easy to tune.
The trans can be tuned to whatever shift points you like. Same with the converter lock up. Buy a good billet converter like a Yank or Circle with a 3200? stall and it will really wake it up off the line.
