Gas Tank

Howdy All, Newbie to the site.
So forgive me if this is posted else where, Have a 70 chevy CST/10 Long bed bought back in H.S. in 82. Been in my garage for 20 plus years, youngest son wants to get it running. I figure its time to pass the keys on.
One of the things I want to do is to relocate the gas tank to the back, and we are trying to decide is bed fill or side fill, the more i think about it I would like side fill, but when you you tube for ideals all I have found is bed fills.
Any suggestions or videos, on how side fill was done or location of side fill would really be helpful, if you have any pics i would really appreciate it.

Thanks in advance
Trey.

Re: Gas Tank

Welcome. Let's see some pictures of your truck, please. It's always fun to see them.
There's a lot of options. Personally I really like the in-cab tank, but if I were to do an under bed tank I would do what Metaldoc did.

Re: Gas Tank

I went with a 21-gal. rear side fill tank from LMC (p/n 32-5980), however some guys don't like the ground clearance when lowered, or that you have to remove the spare tire carrier. I left the old gas cap and added a filler through the bedside like the aux tank option in '70 (N18) as I didn't want to have filler cap in the bed and like the convenience at the gas pump. I could have routed the fill tube to the rear of the wheel housing, but this works for me.

Re: Gas Tank

Suburbon tank with either a gas door side marker fill or tail light filler
