wheel tire combinations

I am currently running 8x15 six lug steel rally wheels with BF Goodrich radial TA P235/70R15 tires on all four corners. I have a 1969 SWB fleetside and it has been lowered about 4 in the front and 6 in the rear. Stock tubs in the rear. I want to go to a wider wheel/tire combo on the rears. I picked up a set of 10x15 steel rally wheels for the rear that match my front. I am thinking of going with a P275/60R15 tire in the back. I know technically those tires are meant for a wheel up to 9 1/2 inches wide but several people have told me that they will be fine on the 10 inch wheel. I want to go with this size as I want to keep the tire height at about the same size with the fronts and according to the specs both these tires have a diameter of 28" If I go with a 295/50R15 those will only be a diameter of 26.6 inches and will be shorter so I definitely don't want to go with that size. Anyone have this wheel tire combo? And if so can you post pics and give me your thoughts on them. Again this would be a 8x15 wheels in the front with P235/60R15 tires and 10x15 wheels in the rear with P275/60R15 in the back. Thanks so much everyone

Re: wheel tire combinations

Someone has to have this wheel/tire combination.... Or at least an opinion on it?

Re: wheel tire combinations

Those tires will work great with the rims. I routinely see 275 (width) series tires and 8" wide rims, so yours should be perfect.

The only issue I could see is since you have a 69, you may have the narrower rear end, and those wider tires may rub the inner surface of the tubs.
