Wheel selection questions

So I'm looking at wheels and I want to double check my research with you guys and reading a bunch of threads.

I'm looking at 16 inch steel wheels for my 69, specifically the wheel vintiques 82s. I want to run a 16x8 up front with a 245/75ish tire, 16x10 in the rear with a 285/75 tires.

So my questions:
1. Anyone running a similar setup on a c20? I've only got 2 inch drop shackles in the rear as far as suspension work with no plans to go lower... will they fit or should I got with 16x8s in the rear as well?
2. From what I've seen, stock 3/4th ton hubcaps fit these as well correct? Does anyone make good reproductions? I don't necessarily need 67-72 caps, but I'd like to have something nice over the hubs.

Any info is very appreciated.

Re: Wheel selection questions

With a 245 tire the max rim width recommended is 8". On the 285's it's 9". So 8's would be best. THe 16x8's have a backspace of 4".
What wheels do you have now?
What is the backspacing on them?
What tire size now?

Here's a good link to how to measure for different wheels.

Re: Wheel selection questions

Currently it has some very rusty Western Brand 16x8 with 235/85 tires. Not terrible but not really the look I'm going for. I'd actually like to run a bigger tire in back if I could, 295 or even 305 if they fit. Kinda that old school hotrod look, hence the stagger fitted wheels.

Re: Wheel selection questions

You want to go wider with more offset you gotta measure carefully both front and back. Use the link to figure it out. Could save you a few bucks.
