Back up lights?

Hello I’m fairly new to these trucks and no where near a mechanic. So I bought a ‘67 GMC SWB that had the original three on the tree moved to the floor. While attempting to get it inspected the reverse lights don’t engage. How do I correct the wiring to the new shifter to make the truck legal?

Re: Back up lights?

Do you know what brand shifter it has ? Hurst makes a separate switch mounted to the shifter body .

Re: Back up lights?

It might be easier to just put them an a toggle switch under the dash, just run the hot wires to a switch and voila.

Re: Back up lights?

lokar makes a few different reverse light switches. I'm running one now that once adjusted correctly works perfect.
