Re: QA1 Coil Over System

Yes I installed that system on my 69. I really liked the way it installed and I also put the rear sway bar on. I also installed the front system also with the sway bar. I am still in the process of building my truck again, so I have not been able to drive it yet. It installs very easy. The rivets are not to bad to remove.

Thanks Wally That’s good to hear. My only worry is my Ford 9” housing being bigger than the 12 bolt and I have a Boyd’s tank in the rear which they say shouldn’t be a problem.
Would you have any pics of the install?
Steve

Re: QA1 Coil Over System

I am using a 69 Camaro tank and have no clearance problems. The only thing I have not worked out is the exhaust. And I am still using my 12 bolt out of a 72.
I can’t get the pictures right. And I don’t have the gas tank back in yet.

Here is two more pictures and there is 1 3/4” between the bar and rear end cover. Also I bought my kits thru a JEGS they had the best price.

Thanks for the pics it’s exactly what I needed to see. I have a Friend that’s a dealer for QA so I’m getting a killer deal. The rear using MY arms is $805. I like the kit that allows pinion angle adjustments but I have Early Classic Enterprise solid arms and a Ford 9 inch so I’ve addressed the Pinion angel issue a long time ago. The little I can see looks like your doing a killer build. Are you doing the front with QA also? I may look into the rear sway bar too
Thanks for all the info I really appreciate it

Steve

Re: QA1 Coil Over System

Yes I have already installed the front system with the sway bar also. Thanks for the complement. I have just been taking my time on it and enjoying the process. This time I am doing the thing to enjoy it when I retire. Here are a few pictures of the front. It was not to bad to do, only the 4" hole in the upper mount.

Re: QA1 Coil Over System

I'm thinking about this same setup. Hope someone will chime in with how it rides and if it's worth the cost. The adjustability is the part that stands out to me.

My kit should be here next week, just rears, I’ll let you know as soon as I’m done

Very nice. I’d love to do the front also but it’s pricey. I’m already retired and enjoying my truck

Re: QA1 Coil Over System

Hey that is one beauty, I know what you mean about the price. I had to do a lot of hard thinking and decided that I was not going to spend a bunch of money on a new truck. The first one was before and the second one as it sits now. Maybe someone can turn the pictures.

Re: QA1 Coil Over System

I’m interested in buying the same rear coil over kit that you are using but I have a c notch kit that’s been on for a while and I wondering if you have a picture of the drivers side coil over mount so I can get a idea if the 2 will fit side by side?

I had to modify my c-notch to mount the rear coil brackets to the frame. I welded in the c-notch instead of bolting it in. QA1 will not sell the upper coil mount with built in c-notch alone and you can only get the QA1 c-notch if you buy the kit that include their arms (which was nearly an extra $2000 Canadian when I purchased them). It does work, but I can almost promise you that you will need to modify your notches.

I can send you some pictures if needed too.

I haven’t done the exhaust yet but I had planned to exit before the rear wheels.

After looking at pics I’m thinking I will need to trim part of my c notch for the coil over mount to fit properly but shouldn’t be much of a problem . Here is a pick of my c notch
