another airbag switch question
2000 S 10 pickup. while pulling apart the dash to replace the radio the airbag switch broke. The one on the dash that powers and unpowers the passenger side airbag.
I ordered a new switch and am suppoused to get it in the next day or so. My question is I pulled out the pieces of the old one and put tape over the wiring harness so it doesnt short out. When i install the new switch do i have to do anything special ? A friend told me that i should disconnect the negative cable on the battery because if i dont the airbags could deploy? What do you all think?

Re: another airbag switch question
All the switch is wired to is the airbag control module, it will not set the airbag off. But anytime your working on the electrical/airbag system you need to disconnect the battery, its a good habit anyway
