Slow 66 build

I am planning on building another 66 c10. Plans are frame off and install a 230 3 speed. It is a custom cab. Going back the original color which is dark blue with a white top. It will take me a while but here are some pictures I started in the bed removing rust and welding in patch panels.IMG_4437 by Daniel Crymes, on FlickrIMG_6208 by Daniel Crymes, on FlickrIMG_6214 by Daniel Crymes, on FlickrIMG_6215 by Daniel Crymes, on FlickrIMG_6216 by Daniel Crymes, on FlickrIMG_6217 by Daniel Crymes, on FlickrIMG_6218 by Daniel Crymes, on Flickr

Re: Slow 66 build

I got one side of the front end tore down. I have the frame about clean on that side. I also installed the original cross member. Putting all new parts back.IMG_6263 by Daniel Crymes, on FlickrIMG_6264 by Daniel Crymes, on FlickrIMG_6265 by IMG_6266 by Daniel Crymes, on FlickrDaniel Crymes, on IMG_6267 by Daniel Crymes, on FlickrFlickr

Re: Slow 66 build

Never a fun thing to see that crack.

I don't know if it helped at all, but I added a reinforcement plate to the inside of the frame that all three steering gear bolts go through. I also welded it to the frame. Hopefully mine won't crack again.

Re: Slow 66 build

Yes I welded a plate on the inside as well. Hopefully it will be solid now
