lost on outter trim and interior color

so I've been doing research and looking at what it'll take to make sure this project turns out some what correct. I'm building 1972 Cheyenne Super (long bed). we've painted the truck according to the "572" research I've done. when I go to look at the exterior moldings I get lost...wood only at bottom and tailgate? OR wood along the bottom with wood tailgate AND the upper black trim. I've read where it says the upper trim for the fleetsides but just wanted to make sure.

interior wise I'm lost on which blue to use? I'm looking at ACC for the carpet..#522 light/medium blue

questions.
1. what is my outter trim package to look like? 1972 Cheyenne super (long bed)

2. what color of blue for the interior to use, carpet, bench seat, door panels?

(I usually build custom stuff so correct color, trims, etc.. have never really mattered to me...lol, but we are building this for my boss and its been so long since he's seen it together he cant remember, and his boys were super young then and can't remember)

thanks for the help..

Re: lost on outter trim and interior color

Nice color. There are more knowledgeable than me, but I'd say your outer trim is:

Wood grain bottom moldings
Wood grain Band
Upper moldings
Paint divider
Full rear moldings and bezels (no lower tailgate trim)
Stainless front/rear window frame
Deluxe lenses
Super and Cheyenne20 badges & engine plates

Re: lost on outter trim and interior color

Wrong color but this one seems to have the same trim package. and all the boxes that 71Chevyshortbed402 posted are marked plus a few. http://davidsclassiccars.com/chevrol...ach-clean.html

A friend of mine had a 72 long bed that same color that I painted for here 30 years ago and I can't remember the blue on the seats Just that it was blue.

Re: lost on outter trim and interior color

You just need to find a blue on blue Houndstooth bench seat. Usually they are done in bright blue which is similar to a 66-67 GM interior code. The 72 door panels are more of a satin Medium blue color with no metallic look. Dash Pad should match your seats which may require dyeing it.

Re: lost on outter trim and interior color

This was my '72 interior. It shows the original carpet, though old and cruddy. It's a Z84 not YE9. The seat cover and dash pad are replacements but the door panels are original. I removed the woodgrain on the doors so the seat and door panels would match
