WTB: One washer jar bracket for a auxiliary battery truck (pics attached)

The aux battery (RPO TP2) option made use of a unique windshield washer jar bracket so as to clear the inner fender on the RH side given the location of the two J-blocks. Anyone have an aux tank truck with the bracket still attached?

Borrowed pics from Dave and schematic courtesy of SS Tim:

Yeah, I suspected GM used a different design when we added the aux battery to my K20 recently and tried to re-locate the washer jar. No way to achieve the same level on the RH fender posterior to the j-blocks as the bracket bottom contacts the inner fender. With a standard bracket you have to use the extra lower screw holes, which places the jar above the the fender line and looks a bit funky.

So the washer jar has to be moved to the other side of the bay due to aux. battery?

If you do like GM did then yes. The j-block for the aux harness interferes with the wash jar location. GM re-located the jar on the RH fender as shown in the schematic above. Forget trying to add the GM radiator coolant overflow tank - no room with a factory aux battery install. If all you want to do is add a tray and run a custom harness or whatever then probably not.

It's funny - I've seen a fair number of posts related to aux batteries but only one (musicman) who actually is using an aux battery. Installing an aux battery (as I did in my K20 restoration) imparts its own set of questions in terms of how the battery attaches to the j-block etc. No big deal just never covered in a thread that I could find.

Interesting thing about that washer jar bracket. If anyone has one for sell, like to buy it from you. Please let me know if anyone has one that they are willing to sell. Thanks, Mike. Hey Mel from CLASSIC BOWTIES. Have any around your shop?

Re: WTB: One washer jar bracket for a auxiliary battery truck (pics attached)

I have installed the aux battery tray and because of all the other things I'm trying to finish up, I've just glanced over the pages in the factory assy. manual regarding this, after all, where my windshield fluid is coming from is not at the top of the list!! Good to know, thanks!
And if anybody has another available, please put me in line.

Re: WTB: One washer jar bracket for a auxiliary battery truck (pics attached)

I was just looking at the pic of the aux washer bracket and easrlier today at pick n' pull I was looking at a washer bracket in a 67. Didn't have my phone for a picture but it looks like it was the same. I have a 72 so wouldn't know what a 67 has. It was also mounted on the drivers side firewall.

Could they be the same??

I went and checked on the Blazer today. It was a factory dual battery set up. The bracket for the washer bottle was just a standard bracket. Looks like you are taken care of anyway.

Re: WTB: One washer jar bracket for a auxiliary battery truck (pics attached)

I have one not exactly like your showing but it might work.
I believe it came off of a 1/2 on 2WD and oddly it was located just above the voltage regulator on the core support. And I feel like that was where it was originally installed (but just a guess).

I did have to straighten it out some, and it might need a little more massaging to get it looking correct, but it is close and the washer jar does fit into it correctly.

If anyone is interested let me know and I'll price it.
