Zapatos Nuevo- or - New shoes, why this board rocks

I've been getting tired of the look my truck had, so I've been trying to figure out how to change it without spending my coin.

I felt like the wheels were what needed updating. I'm a rally wheel guy, so the search was on for a set. I posted a "wanted to buy" ad here on the board. Almost instantly, some members pointed me at some wheels on Craigslist. They were only a few miles from me too. So, 50 bucks later, I had 5 rally wheels.

My 50 dollar Craigslist score:

Then, being even poorer, I posted a "for sale" ad on the board to sell my old wheels and tires. Again, almost instantly I had them sold to a local member. This gave me money to visit my local tire store and buy the shoes.

I'm happier with the look now:

But wait, don't call yet, there is more!....

Look closely in the bed of my truck above, past the remodeling rubbish and old mailbox, and you'll see the second half of my Craigslist score.

There was also a funny set of finned valve covers. I gave 20 more bucks for them. They got funny crossed flag emblems on them. Best I can tell, they're some 70's era Corvette covers.

I think he already did - that's how he got the money to buy the tires for the rally wheels.

The truck looks good! The valve covers look like the ones off my DZ302. What are the casting #'s on the underside? Do they have drippers? $20 is a great score!!

Truck looks good with the rallys. I liked the red steelies but I think there just wasn't enough wheel/tire in the rear.
Don't spit shine those valve covers too much, they fit the theme of the truck!
(That's a compliment. )

That deal went down the way I always promise my deals will go down. If you look in my back yard you will see that I have never quite been able to do the "No, honey, I'll sell this and use the money to pay for that" thing successfully.

Truck looks dramatically different with the ralleys.

Hey Chief! Now you've got it going on with the rallys. Even without caps n rings it looks better. $10 per wheel? Rubbin my head wondering why I never scratch up deals like that.....

and what is this Craig's list I keep hearing about? Who and where is he?

I can't ever find deals like that either, craigslist.org it is a classified place, but I did like the red wheels too.

Man you always impress me with your ability to make an old beater look cool. I hate to say it, but I am dissapointed that you changed the wheels.

IMO Rally wheels were a downgrade....

Looking good TX.You got to your scheme ahead of me.I have 8" steelies I had powdercoated juicey red and even have a set of the Z28 valve covers.I planned to have custom thin whitewalls made in a wider tire.I don`t think it`ll be all that cheap of a build. But,I want it to look that way(and be that way as much as posible).Mine is parts from several trucks,so the truck will get satin paint.I`m moving away from my white scheme,I think
