Re: My Pro Street '56 GMC Pick'em Up
Well maybe when he sees these pictures of the truck maybe he will put his wrench down and stop working on the Porsche. I guess I should be quiet coz I am guilty of working on two projects at the same time myself.

Re: My Pro Street '56 GMC Pick'em Up
So we took a break from Donnie's '57 Chevy truck project and went out to the drive way so I could take photos of Sam's '55 Chevy Cameo.

Re: My Pro Street '56 GMC Pick'em Up
Question, I see you are running a BB in the truck. Are you using a long or short water pump? What are the brackets you are using for the alternator and the power steering pump? I went back and looked, but didn't see that info.

Re: My Pro Street '56 GMC Pick'em Up
Hey Rickysnickers, thanks for droppin' in to take a peek. Donnie is using a short water pump. As far as the brackets for the alternator & p/s pump he got all that from March Performance. He bought the complete Front Runner kit. it came with the a/c compressor, Alternator p/s pump, serpentine belt and pulleys bracket with mounting hardware. It comes in a lot of configurations. He had to go with the electric pusher fan coz it was a tight fit and there was no way he was going to be able to run a mechanical fan. Sorry I don't have any more pictures of it before and after. When I aint spying on what he and my other friends are doing I am working on my stuff.

Re: My Pro Street '56 GMC Pick'em Up
After Donnie sold his '55 Chevy Belair he threw all his energy into his LS1 engine and stick it in a '73 Porsche 914, and decides to run out and buy a '57 Chevy Truck. After a while he missed not having his Belair to drive around so he went out and bought a completed '55 Belair with a 496 BB Chevy. He made some changes to the clutch set up for the 6- speed TREMEC trans, changed the carb set up a little later down the road to a Edelbrock Pro-Flo 4 EFI kit for BB Chevy and changed the wheels and tires.

Re: My Pro Street '56 GMC Pick'em Up
One of the last pics I had of Donnie's first '55 shortly after it was sold. The only thing the new owner did was change the wheels & tires everything else remained the same.

I got a text with this picture of Donnie's old ride. This happened with the new owners. What and how it got this way I can't say. Fortunately no one was hurt.

I came across these two wild trucks at a local car show in my area in 2019, check them out.

Re: My Pro Street '56 GMC Pick'em Up
Too bad about the car but luckily no one was hurt. Both those trucks are great and so different from each other. - Hey, never seen a 5 window made like that in that year before.

Re: My Pro Street '56 GMC Pick'em Up
When I first saw the back wndow(s) I walked right passed it, lol. I think I was more interested in the blending of a '55 Chevy truck grill insert and '56 GMC bumper grill combo.

Re: My Pro Street '56 GMC Pick'em Up
A RECAPE of how the truck use to look in 1979, 2008 and 2017 to the coming current photos and a recap of where I left off on my BEFORE AND AFTER pics in 2017 of bed work/primer/paint and minor work to frame. Because the new rear springs from "No Limit Engineering" brought my truck so far down I have to notch and weld my shock cross member. I just want that little additional clearance for peace of mind. BUT Life and family issues are priority so my truck took a back seat to them and other projects I needed to address. One of them was, MY WIFE wanted more work to be done to the house and she wanted a new drive way gate. Those custom wrought iron gates cost BIG $$$ I don't have so I made one. I'll post some pics of the gate I made later. Also I will probably die before it's completed but I am also working on my '67 El Camino which will be getting a roots blown 496 BB Chevy.
....well we will see "Man makes plans & God Laughs" I am a gear head nut I stay busy it's a sickness. I enjoy coming on here checking out all the kool projects stealing ideas and stuff, going to the drags / car shows/ monster truck /tractor pulling/ photography & doin' the steam locomotive excursion thing.
