Installed the Petronix ignition kit in the truck the points were a little burnt , and set the timing and made sure everything else was right. Current problems is the truck won't run without the choke. I'm going to go ahead and buy a gas tank soon to install so it'll get better gas flow to the engine.
Awaiting on the hood emblem that I ordered from Ebay, not sure when that will arrive

I am having another rim painted and I will put a new tire on it when I get a chance

New Coil
New Thermostat (Learned a valuable lesson, the hard way)
Grounded Brakes lights
Checked out the Gas Tank I bought last week, and am going to get it cleaned and put it back into the truck

Well it has side windows, missing one vent window that I broke on accident WHOOPS!!

I have a back glass for it and will eventually get a windshield

Do you plan to paint the truck, or leave it in its present condition, which btw looks awesome, unless there are things about the body unseen by the viewers that you want to fix? Something about seeing a classic in its natural weathered state vs. a pretty truck like mine! You can still use your truck as a truck! Show trucks are somewhat useless for work

I've still been thinking about your idling problem and having to have the choke on or partially on to keep it running? Unless you've remedied that issue. I had kind of the same problem on the original engine in my truck, it was a 230 or 250, but wouldn't idle unless I put my hand over the opening to act as a choke, then it would run. In my case it would up being the carburetor, but I had to eliminate the possibility of vacuum leaks around the intake manifold(it was loose somewhat). Using a can of carb cleaner and spraying to where the intake mating surface to the head can help identify leaks when the engine is running, as it will speed up in idle when carb cleaner is drawn in. However, spray carb cleaner can make its way to the inlet of the carb and give a "false positive", so you have to shield the spray from the carb. I had three extra carburetors, but each of them had issues. Of course that engine was pulled out and an sbc installed.

Another thought and just curious, have you performed a compression test on the engine? It's an easy test.

I sorta found out why it never wanted to idle, the screw on the vacuum advance was loose causing the distributor to move a little knocking it in and out of time and so on, so when I tightened the screw it was a lot easier to having it running. Only problem I see now is the lack of a gas tank on it causing the gas to swish around and the fuel line not to pick up the right amount of pressure to the fuel pump I assume so. I am currently working on getting the other rim down and with a tire then put them on the truck to give it more of a green look to it than all black YUCK.. I have almost all of the patch panels all I really need now is door bottoms and a front bed panel then I'll have the welding work done to it. I have someone for $200 doing the steps, cab corners and front bottom of the fenders and then will send it to a local body shop to have the rest done on it. Have it sent back home till I get the money to have it primered and painted. This truck means a lot to me so it will be near perfect, no where near a show truck but close.It was originally green as you see in this photo and I hate black, absolutely despise it to the maximum.I plan on painting it original colors, It won't be used like a truck as much

That will be a really nice color!
Now as for what you said up above, the fuel pump actually sucks the gas from the gas tank, there is no pressure in the tank itself, no matter how much is sloshes to push it, that being said you could attach a vacuum gauge to the suction side of the fuel pump to see if it's pulling a vacuum, if there is no vacuum, there will be no gas, from there on the other side of the pump is the pressure side. Does this make sense?

i think i still have my vent window glass from when i converted to one piece, i'll check to see
they won't be new, but it will be free

I believe I've finally found the issue with the truck it's not getting the right amount of fuel pressure and it's pulling vacuum from the tank I am using which is a plastic boat tank
