71 AC cab....worth??

Guys,
I just bought a 71-72 Long bed 4x4 pickup. The frame is already restored, bed, fenders, etc in primer. spring & body lift. Custom bed roll bar, 1/2 ton mid 80s axles, Aluminum fuel cell under/behind cab. Cab is bare and has been "redone" and is ok, been painted yellow, but still needs some work to make right.

I just came across another cab....71, A/C, complete, no rust, has title, all intact.
Guy wants $1200. Does this sound crazy high, or should I just bite the bullet, buy it and sell off the yellow one??

Re: 71 AC cab....worth??

Supply and demand really. Is the 71 A/C cab complete? I paid $1000 for a complete cab, meaning the truck was drivable, i unbolted everything, took the cab off, onto my trailer and headed home.

Re: 71 AC cab....worth??

I believe it is complete, dash column wiring everything. If I sell the yellow one....Id only have maybe $800...so Im starting to think this is a good deal......no bodywork will have to be done at all.......although its green....but I want a nice one to drive for the next 20 or so yrs...

Re: 71 AC cab....worth??

Look it over good, Mine needed rockers, one cab mount, and had one spot on the cowl that needs repair, other than that, it had new carpet, headliner, dash pad, wiring, nice wheel, i did pretty well.

Just check the problam spots, if they are solid, i'd say do it.
