Anyone have cooper 255/85/16s S/T maxxs?

Tire time for the K2500. I'm not worried about if this size rubs, cutting wheels are cheap if that's the case, just wondering how they perform in the wet and soggy since they are kinda narrow. If anyone has pics of their truck wearing them that would be awesome.

Before any of the wide tire guys get going....I don't mud that often and I don't like the tires sticking out past the sides of the truck more than just a hair.

I have 255/85-16 Cooper Discoverer S/Ts on my '95 Suburban with torsion bards turned up some and they work out perfect. No rubbing and the truck is very sure footed on the road. It does better in the mud than if it had wider tires

Re: Anyone have cooper 255/85/16s S/T maxxs?

Been busy as heck but thanks a lot for those pictures. Gave me confidence in how they would fit. Had to settle on the brand but I love the size.

Ended up having to settle for BFG KM2s since I was set on the 255 size. The toyos were a little too pricey at $1750/5 and since the coopers weren't available that left only the KM2s. Anyone else interested in ten ply cooper 255/85/16s check with cooper before you get your heart set on them, they're on national back order with no ETA. The BFGs were a pretty good deal though at $1200/5. We'll see how they hold up

Yeah, I was recently looking for the S/Ts and kept coming up with the Maxxs. Then last week I was talking to a tire guy who told me they dropped the S/Ts I have (only a year and a half old) and these S/T Maxxs took their place. Seems odd to come out with the next greatest thing yet not have them ready to produce. I wish I could start a business with nothing to offer The BFGs will do ya fine, though

Re: Anyone have cooper 255/85/16s S/T maxxs?

No kidding huh? You'd think a company that size would have better estimated their market.

The BFGs look and feel really good, especially under load, at this point I couldn't be happier, but it doesn't rain in CA anymore so I'm not sure when I'll actually get em wet. The only downside is they magnified my front end issues but a suspension rebuild was on the short list anyway.

I Still have to figure out how to solve the spare tire issue also since the exhaust is too close for comfort to with the tire being bigger. It may just end up a carry on item for when I'm wheeling.

Re: Anyone have cooper 255/85/16s S/T maxxs?

I can fit a 235/85 in my Suburban. Close in size, but still a space-saver.

Here is a good tire story:
Back in '77 or '78 I ordered 37/14.50 Armstrongs (mounted and balanced) from Dick Cepek to be shipped to Maryland when they were first introduced. They were back ordered (more like not made yet). I was planning to move to Snowmass, CO and I had to tell them to change shipment to there. Then I decided to wait till spring to head out and spend the winter in FL, so changed shipment location once more. I was there Oct-Jan and the tires still hadn't shipped. I came back to MD, so changed the shipment location once more. March came and they still hadn't come. I checked and they were on their way to Snowmass. They went back to San Diego since no one pickup them up at the depot. So, then they had to ship to Maryland. Ok, it may not be normal for someone to be moving around so much, but what's up with taking over 6 months to have what you show in your catalog available? I had to wait to leave for CO a few weeks to receive my tires. If they had just left them there it would have worked out perfect . Those things had 3-4 thousand miles on them before being mounted on a truck.
