Re: Dukes of Hazard ain't got Jack on this gal
Those few people were just in shock by what they had just witnessed. It took a minute to register that it was real then anticipating whether it was likely to explode into flames or not. Processing the moment. It's not everyday a vehicle flies through power lines and drops onto the road in front of you. That's a lot to take in. Thankfully that secondary road wasn't busy with traffic at that time.

There's also studies on this affect. People tend to take a good bit of time just to process wtf just happened. That's why you should support your local emergency services. They head towards the fires and gun shots when everyone else runs away.

Re: Dukes of Hazard ain't got Jack on this gal
Different people react differently, that's for sure. I don't know how I would have reacted, seeing that crash. I do know that when I worked at a gas station and the pump jockey forgot to remove the nozzle from the tank and the customer started to drive off, he just pointed and said, "Look!", while I raced to shut off the pump. We only lost about a gallon of gas on the island, and thankfully, the customer's car wasn't damaged. In this case, I would have been concerned about the car starting to burn, even though I know that the technology is there for preventing a massive fuel leak. One just never knows...

Re: Dukes of Hazard ain't got Jack on this gal
No matter what happened here, the people taking videos rather than taking action is a real thing. We've all seen it, so I get where others are coming from. I think it's amazing it was caught on video as if they were waiting for it.
I just watched the video again. WOW! Anyway, I see it different. The driver said call 911 immediately. They had a real hard time stating exactly where they were, obviously shaken as would be expected. Think the true definition of 'in shock'. Then in the middle of giving location the driver gets out and runs up to see what he can do. That was less than a minute after it happened.

Re: Dukes of Hazard ain't got Jack on this gal
The camera from the car in the first video looks to me like it's a dash camera mounted to the car. I wouldn't be able to keep a camera focused on the wreck after witnessing something like that
