Different pics, celebs maybe, whatever you like
I have/had an uncle who was really just a year or so older than I am. He was half Arab, my mothers half brother. The guys IQ was off the charts, but he couldn't keep a job, a lot of drugs. Despite his craziness we got along real well, the guy was a trip. I got to clean out his bedroom, you wouldn't believe it.
Anyway, how on Earth does a guy get lost with no record of he being alive or dead? He was institutionalized because of a bad accident many years ago. We spoke on occasion, and my mother gave me everything but his SSN. The govt. is no help at all, and the former institution never heard of him. Last I saw him he looked 75, but was only 50. In the mix of things, I think he was moved from Tucson to a NY institution on very loose information, though I believe he's gone, what a shame. Ironically, a there is a guy with the same name that has passed, they look similar, and the reason why is they were probably brothers. That was my mom's opinion and mine too. He's where this pic comes in. It's his photo of this blues fellow arriving for a 1980 concert in back of the LA Colosseum, for the Wall. He gave it to me, I gave him a copy back some years later. I'm guessing that's a Firebird of some sort, year? Batman was pretty cool, same with this Bonanza fellow. My favorite would be this one. Never met them, the top two are my father's grandpa's. My dad was old enough to be my grandpa, this was about 1915ish, working on the railroad.

Re: Different pics, celebs maybe, whatever you like
For old family pictures I received some from my sister, who has been doing a lot of digging into my dad's side's history. He was born in '24, so how old is this picture?
Then with Uncle Ted this one says 3 years old Joined the Army at 17

My wife's baby picture. She looks like a happy kid huh?
She kind of reminds me of this guy. I tease her with that picture. Here she is years later acting like some sort of wild animal.

My father married three gals, the first blonde with beautiful full hair, the second a red head who was a dance gal, well known old Vegas, and the last my mother a brunette, who had almost the same features as the red head, only better☺ Actually, this may be my favorite picture, it's my mom and step-dad before she married my dad. They were sweethearts since very young, they lived next door. This pic. would be say 1952, I'm guessing, where she was about 16 and he 21. He went on to be Lt. Col. Marine, worked & trained with the CIA, which is why he never made full col. He didn't play the game due a conscious & he's a rebel at heart. They ended up marrying to finish in 1997. My mom was A personality, started & finished law school in her mid-late 50s. The second picture I don't have any favor for, she's the dance gal, my dad's second wife. They were only married a year or two, word is she )^^) the waiter My dad was in the show business. He gave her the start and she was still working into her 80s or 90s. Her reputation in Vegas was her way or the HWY, she was the boss and blunt. She told my mom she was fat when she was pregnant my brother Yeah, that girl. My dad said she was frightening without make-up

A more recent picture. I think she still looks good for being in her late 50's. And she puts up with my insanity.

Re: Different pics, celebs maybe, whatever you like
The car in the first pics is a 2nd gen Camaro based on the steering wheel. Firebirds had a 3 spoke design up until the air bag age.
Pic I got with the guys from the older American Top Gear. I actually really liked their version. My little guy from yesterday.

Re: Different pics, celebs maybe, whatever you like
My mother, at age 16, in 1959. She had this picture made and framed and gave it to my dad for a Christmas gift. They were married almost 60 years before she passed away from a brain aneurysm last June. She was an English & French teacher for 33 years. She also had five older brothers, 4 of them were fighting in WW2 when she was born in 1943. Glad my grandparents kept trying for a baby girl or I wouldn’t be here.

Re: Different pics, celebs maybe, whatever you like
Pretty mom. I'm sorry to hear of her passing. My dad's mom and my oldest sister both passed from brain aneurisms. My sister had just turned 40. She was a well known silversmith/jeweler in Taos, NM. The third picture is all us kids at the pool. We had one other sister and finally a brother come along later. The next picture was when my one sister took my mom out to visit two other sisters, one in NM and the other in ID. The last one is my sister in Maine (married my buddy Eric). She is the youngest one in the pool picture

Re: Different pics, celebs maybe, whatever you like
After seeing this pretty lady on the arm of "Nauga" with Johnny, I told dad I wanted to be him for Halloween. Pretty clever cardboard box costume. My little sis and brother and Mom are pictured also. Still have that plow to this day. Always liked this picture.

Re: Different pics, celebs maybe, whatever you like
Thanks to you all. You know any one of us could check out of this world at any time. I have seen my wife’s grandmother lie in a nursing home for years begging the Lord to take her until he finally did at age 103. That’s someplace I don’t want to go! I believe those who pass suddenly are luckier than those who are unfortunate enough to outlive their quality of life or those who get sick and are forced to fight for life until they just whither away.
Sorry, didn’t want to put a sad or depressed mood on this thread. Just wanted to mention how I feel lucky to be here to live this life by telling Mom’s story.

Gonna change my mood now. Man, how I wish some network would bring these guys back instead of showing some of the gosh awful bunch a mess that they air on television now!

The show was cool. But that heavy Torino sure fought the turns with those rear air shocks and L60s (or whatever they were) and all stock mush up front
