First ride on new mini bike project

Finally got the electric bugs worked out, turned out to be a bad Ground, Go figure. Kick start or electric starter it fires right off. Rode it around the court this morning. Did not go to fast or far as I still have NO brakes. Parts are coming, there HARD to find.

That's cool that you got it running. It's looking good.

Yeah. No brakes can be an issue. My 70 CST has no brakes at the moment and it can get "interesting'. It runs just fine but it won't stop. It certainly get's the old adrenaline going when the pedal hits the floor and nothing happens.

That it does. Setting at a stop sign one day and a bolt snapped on my clutch pedal sending me out into an intersection. Thankfully there was No traffic. Getting home was fun running stop signs and or starting in gear from them. Just the opposite of no brakes LOL but just as interesting

Re: First ride on new mini bike project

Reminds me of my dune buggy that snapped a clutch cable. Starting it in gear at an intersection on a hill side with a weak battery wasn't fun.
That little bike ought to scoot. Looking at the pipes. Is that a twin cylinder engine?

LOL. It’s a single. One tube is a fake just for looks. Soon as I get some brakes on this thing I’ll let you know how well it scoots. It’s an automatic 4 speed at least I think I felt 4. It’s jockey shifter right now but I have the foot control.

I put a new front bumper on my '72 K2500 due to a no brakes story. The brakes went out down by Baltimore. It's automatic and I used the parking brake real quick. I decided since it was mostly open interstate I'd run it home real carefully. That went just fine. It wasn't until I pulled it up on the slab in front of my barn where it would be fixed that I forgot and hit the brake pedal and I tapped a post. The bumper and bracket got tweaked at barely moving and on my property. it would seem it is safer to drive without brakes on the street than on my property
