Grille interchange question - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Looking to swap out the grille on my 82. I'm not a fan of that grille (too busy) and want to change. I've heard that the 87 grille mounts differently to the core support and bottom piece than mine. Was looking today and wondering if the 84 grilles worked as they look good as well?

The lower grill filler panel need to be changed and painted to change to a newer grill(83-87). The rest of the attachments are the same.

No great defeat was ever just possible in the beginning.
