hey all,

I know it's hard to believe, but my p/w motors seem really weak. I have replaced them before, but they just seem to be kind of wimpy. Is there a way to increase the power of the P/w motors? I realize they have a tiny power supply wire, and was curious if you could run a larger guage + wire and use the factory window switch to activate relays to control the window motor. Is this feasible and/or actually worth trying?

the window motors are only designed to draw so many amps, and they won't pull more than that. Increasing the wire size would not give you the results you are looking for.

best way to increase the effectiveness of your power windows is to clean and lubricate all moving parts

Sorry. 1976 K5 2wd Blazer. Any way to increase the power of the motor?

I did forget to comment on making 100000% sure the grounds are good in there. Not only the motor to door grounds, but the door to truck. 35 years of rust and grease can be hindering that ground through the hinges.
you can also check the voltage at the plug to the motor, and see how much of a voltage drop you have going on.

^^^ I will check the voltage... at rest and under a load I suppose, right. I mean at the switch and the motor
