Thread sealant on vac fittings?
What are your thoughts on using thread sealant on vacuum fitting threads? I am plumbing my vac gauge into the rear of my Edelbrock carb. Brass fitting into aluminum carb body. Yes or no on thread sealant?

Re: Thread sealant on vac fittings?
I'm no expert but I would definitely use a thin coat of teflon paste on the threads and then wrap teflon tape over the paste. I picked that up from a plumber and it works well on water pipe fittings. Should work equally well on vacuum fittings, especially with dissimilar metals where galling can be an issue.

Re: Thread sealant on vac fittings?
On any threads I want to make sure are sealed I use a thin coat of Permatex aviation gasket sealer.
