I tried them on a '73 and was not impressed. Seem like they are maybe 2" too short.

Re: OMG Honda door weatherstripping fits perfect no cutting required !!

I liked the fit of the seals, but the extra inner lip bugged me too. Here's the before and after. Just takes a lot of patience to trim it off smoothly with a utility knife as people mentioned. A little sanding block works well for smoothing things out.

That came out really nice. I still have the pair I got at the junkyard, so might give it a try.

My push-on Precision seals are first rate, but it still takes some effort to close the door. My only concern about the Honda seals is they let the door close so easily that they may allow wind leaks. Has anyone experienced that?

Re: OMG Honda door weatherstripping fits perfect no cutting required !!

Good read and lots of information. Tried Precision seals and door will not close on my 70 C10.

In several threads several part numbers have been mentioned. Here is what I think I need:
72315-SVA-AO1ZA
72355-SVA-AO1ZA

Where is a good pace to order that has stock?

Thanks for all the information

From back in my Honda days...

Majestic Honda: https://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/

Honda Parts Now: https://www.hondapartsnow.com/

To the best of my knowledge they have been discontinued at Honda, but some honda online dealers have them.

I would like to warn you, I actually come from the Honda world, and I was warned on two different model-specific forums, over ten years ago, to be careful buying "Genuine Honda" parts in their special red bags on eBay--they are often dupes from China, etc.

If the parts are discontinued at online honda, but available on eBay--be careful.
If the parts are considerably less than online dealers--be careful.

they come in grey, black, and camel colors.

The online prices aren't bad for the weatherstripping alone, but I think shipping kills the deal.

But I go to a local junkyard about once a month and rarely see 2006-2011 Coupe civics, and the last time I saw one and grabbed the seals, one seal at one little section had a small tear; I can live with that because my truck isn't that nice.
Both sides in junkyard condition were $25. An older thread said the guy got them at his junkyard for $21.

I just picked up a pair off of a '04 in a yard today. The kid only charged me $5 each for them. I wanted to try the '04 just to see how they fit. I won't get to try them until tomorrow afternoon though. Don't know about the length but the only visible difference I can see is that the '04 doesn't have the molded corner.

Just did this on my 71, wow what a difference! No more slamming the doors, had the new ones from LMC , not impressed at all with them , I highly recommend the Honda seals

Re: OMG Honda door weatherstripping fits perfect no cutting required !!

Well I got the civic seals in. Spent a couple of hours adjusting the door and the gaps (paint stir sticks really help as shims for getting gaps set). With that done , now the latch lacks about a 1/16" of an inch for it to go easily into the striker plate.
Put the seals on and now I can close the door - have to slam it. I don't like slamming a door. I'm going to let it sit over night and see if the seals compress a little. If not tomorrow, I'm going to take the seals off and bend the track they fit on inward a little bit, I think the front is causing the resistance. Also on the latch/ striker plate issue, I think I'm going to grind just a little bit of the top edge, rather than spend hours trying to lower the door a 1/16" of a inch

Re: OMG Honda door weatherstripping fits perfect no cutting required !!

Door seal fit- Day 2!
Put the left door seal in today, bent the pinch welds in a little and got a good fit with the exception of having to slam the door. The door get to the latch before it need any pressure to close, with a slight push it catches, but does not fully close. Yet if slam it does. Finally got the right door to the same point as the left, again have to slam or give it a hard bump with your butt.
I think its a door latch issue now, there are the latches that came off the truck originally and I can wiggle the latch wheel about a 1/4" play in it. I think its time for new latches.
Any thought on the latches?

Thanks

Installed the '04 Civic seal on drivers door on the '72 and it is too short by about a foot. That is all I wanted to know. They didn't have any of the later cars so I thought I would try them..... No go.

Re: OMG Honda door weatherstripping fits perfect no cutting required !!

.

Bought a set off an '08 Civic at the local Pick-n-Pull for 15 bucks, craigslist restored them and installed...no cutting required! Figured this would settle my wind noise issue but sadly, no. Gonna have to do some adjusting to fix that.

I bought those seals couldn't close the door. I don't know why I was afraid going to bend the door trying to close it. Adjusting the door outward would have made it look like the door was not aligned. The Honda seals were the only ones that worked for me without a problem. I spent about 4 times as much buying door seals until I got something that worked. I would save the packaging in case you have to return them I cut mine trying to make them fit never did I couldn't return the press in ones.
