This is one of the holy grail parts for 81-87 GMC trucks, gorgeous condition-never been installed. OEM GM and extremely hard to find! I have 4 NOS Chevrolet 81-87 tailgate band trim panels NOS but this is my only GMC one NOS. I'm asking $1800 for this gem. I can send more pics if you are a serious buyer-this is a rare item indeed!

Yes-I would rather it go to somebody here but knowing how pricey these are, I listed it to get more exposure. I've seen the Chevrolet NOS tail gate panels go very close to 1K so knowing how much more scarce GMC NOS is, I figure its a fair starting price. Its not just NOS-there are NO dings, scratches, flawless GMC emblem, etc. just gorgeous!

Wow....I can't in good conscious sell one for 3K even for NOS! I'm willing to work a little on the price too but so far no interest on here.

With the way aluminum trim oxidizes, pits and paint fades, there's no better feeling than simply bolting on a perfect trim panel on a perfectly prepped/buffed and polished tailgate! And trim like this is what really makes a nice paint finish pop IMO!

Best way to determine the value on these is to look up sold items on eBay. That is how I actually price my stuff. That being said, I sold a NOS Chevy one for $1000 a while back and they aren't near as hard to find as a NOS GMC one! If you are willing to let it ride, you will probably will get your asking price. It just takes the right buyer.

Yeah....I read somewhere that GM won't release licensing for reproducing GMC specific parts....not sure exactly why tho...it always makes me wonder why GM just doesn't "dust off" their OEM tooling and re-issue production parts for vintage vehicles....they would make a lot of $$$ on the aftermarket side of things I would think.

Well I searched EBay and while there wasn't a recent sale of a NOS panel w/emblem like mine, but there was a used one on 8/15 used that sold for $3,050 with 31 bids! Soooo.....it may not be a bad idea to just shelve it for a better time. I guess the right person just needs to see it after all. I know I've never seen an NOS one on EBay that I can remember myself. Well, if it doesn't sell by the weekend I have no problem letting it sit for awhile....hell, it alone is reason enough to look for a nice GMC project truck! lol

Put this on an auction not a fixed price. Start it out low and just watch. You will get your money. If you don't think you will just put a reserve on it.

The issue with a select few of these NOS pieces is that while they are pricey, they keep going up so the longer the wait the higher the end prices always are. I've seen this song and dance with 68-72 Chevelle stuff, 78-88 gbody parts.....and trucks now too. Add to that no reproduction available and it can get insane.

Hey I've had these parts a long time....whatever they go for they go for. I dont like to play EBay bid games-I only had 2 offers from members on this board so there isn't a big demand right now for them it appears. But, I'm fine with the sale-somebody got a great deal-nothing wrong with that!
