Battery disconnect
what battery disconnect do you guys recommend? I have one now on my 67 that I disconnect every day while I'm still working on it.. but I hate it. it's the knob style, and if you don't unscrew it completely off, sometimes the weight up the battery cable pushes back towards the battery making a connection.

Re: Battery disconnect
I want to try this blade style, but I want to know how dependable it would be while driving it? as in, when it is connected back on, is it so tight it wouldn't rattle between the tabs loosing connection?

Re: Battery disconnect
I have one like this in my positive battery cable. it also has the small wiring terminals that you can leave connected and just disconnect the starter cables.

Re: Battery disconnect
I seen this type... but it seems harder to find somewhere to mount it. where did you mount yours?

Re: Battery disconnect
I have it mounted on the forward side of the radiator support on an L bracket with the cables running through the support to the switch and back to the starter. I will try to post a picture.

Re: Battery disconnect
I would recommend what VetteVet uses. That's similar to what I have on my racecar, all power is disconnected from the car when switched off. There is two smaller lugs that can be used to route the alternator wiring so it will also act as a kill switch if ever needed. There should be no shortage of places to mount it when the battery is still under the hood, make up a few cables if needed and use a quality switch. Don't want a subpar switch to leave you stranded one day either. I use this one https://www.joesracing.com/product/j...ry-disconnect/ we can help you out with wiring if you'd like.

Re: Battery disconnect
Sorry for the delay on the picture, too much to do during the holidays.
Here is a picture of the mounting position of my shutoff switch. It works great. I just remove the switch handle when I shut it off and take the handle with me like a key.

Re: Battery disconnect
oh that doesn't look too big, seems easy enough to hide it somewhere. thanks for the pictures. I'll probably go this route when it's time to add it
