"amp gauge and idiot light"

Is there any way to have both function at the same time? My gauge needle almost never moves in either direction unless I turn everything on with the engine not running. (I have all led lights, really only moves with the ac on).

Re: "amp gauge and idiot light"

The wiring for the stock ammeter gauge is completely separate from how the "GENERATOR" idiot light would be wired, so you could potentially add the idiot light wiring and an indicator light to your dash to serve that purpose. I'm assuming you have a full gauge cluster which doesn't have the "GENERATOR" idiot light that was in the center circle of the three-hole gauge cluster. The schematics available in the electrical forum show how the idiot light is wired to the alternator.

The only unused vestigial idiot light on the full gauge cluster is the "TEMP" light, which is located on the fuel gauge.
